Early life and education
Susan was raised in Amsterdam by her parents, whose names and occupations she hasn’t disclosed, however, she shared with her fans that she has two sisters, Louise and Emma, whose photos she often posts on her social media accounts.
From an early age, she had an interest in acting, and started by appearing in school plays, and then later she was seen playing in local theatres.
Speaking about her educational background, Susan attended a local high school, and upon matriculating in 2017, she enrolled at the Maastricht Academy of Dramatic Arts, where according to sources she’s still a student.
Roles in movies
Susan made her acting debut portraying Dora in the 2005 TV movie “Sacrifice”, followed by her role as Yenthe in “Kauwboy” in 2012, when she was also seen starring in “Quiz” alongside Kim van Kooten and Barry Atsma, in this thriller crime drama written and directed by Dick Maas.
Two years later, Susan was seen as Anouk in “Painkillers”, before her role as Tanja in “Voor Emilia”, and then in the following year she made appearances in “Jack Bestelt een Broertje” and “Raaf”.
In 2016, Susan was cast to play Leike in “Horizon”, and her performance brought her a Nederlands Film Festival Golden Calf Award – Best Actress in a TV-Drama (Beste Actrice in TV-Drama), while in 2017, she was seen as Margtiet in the short movie “Spring”, which had eight award nomination, and won five, with Susan winning The 48 Hour Film Project, Amsterdam Audience Award – Best Actress.
In the following years, Susan starred in “Sex Thing”, “Gek van Oranje”, and “All You Need Is Love”, before her role as Teuntje Visser in the Netflix movie “The Forgotten Battle”, which follows the story of three people involved in World War II, with all having the same goal-freedom.
This war drama also starred Jamie Flatters and Gijs Blom, had 10 award nominations and won six.
Her most recent role was as Jenny in the 2021 movie “Berend Botje”, and her fans will be happy to hear that she is currently filming her next movie, “The Takeover”, which should be released in late 2022.

Susan made her first television appearance in the series “Shouf shouf” in 2006, followed by her role as Femke in “Hidden Stories” in 2012, before she was seen as Andrea in the TV mini-series “Tessa”, in 2015.
In the following years, she appeared in series such as “A’dam-E. V. A.”, “De mannentester”, and “Vechtershart” before she was cast to play Vlinder in the comedy drama “Soof: Een Nieuw Begin” in 2017.
Susan next portrayed Alice Drost in “De 12 van Schouwendam”, before she was cast to play Lulu in “Women of the Night”, a crime drama which follows the story of a woman named Xandra, who lives a normal life with her husband and daughter (portrayed by Susan) but desires more excitement in her life, so is determined to once again become involved with her old life, when she was working as a manager of a group of escort girls.
From 2019 until 2021, Susan was seen as Lieke Meijer in “Ogappels”, also starring Malou Gorter, Ramsey Nasr, and Bracha van Doesburgh, which is her most recent television role.
