Charlotte Hope is an English actress probably known best for her portrayal of Myranda in the TV series “Game of Thrones” (“GOT”) and Catherine of Aragon in “The Spanish Princess”. She is working on multiple projects at the moment, eagerly pursuing her acting career.
Early life, family, educational background
Charlotte Hope was born on 14 October 1991, in Salisbury, Wiltshire UK. Her mother worked in PR when she was younger, but later stayed at home to look after her children, while her father was a jockey, but he switched his career and became a barrister. The actress was raised in Lower Daggon, Hampshire with her younger sister Emily Norris, who is now the trumpeter in the British country/folk band Police Dog Hogan.
Hope studied at a local boarding school, during which she attended a drama class that aroused her interest in acting. She enrolled at the University of Oxford, majoring in French and Spanish, but already knew that she wanted to become an actress, which is why she hired an agent while she was at the university, and started participating in theatre and commercial gigs. After graduating, Charlotte took acting classes at L’École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris, France.

After signing with an agent, Charlotte started landing episodic roles in various television series. In 2010, she portrayed Ava Dunlop in an episode of “Casualty” and Caitlin Morgan in “Missing”. In 2011, she played the role of Abigail Harding in two episodes of the TV series “Waking the Dead”, portraying an abducted girl who was locked in a cupboard. A year later, she appeared in “Some Girls” as Jenny, and in “Doctors” as Niamh Curram. Concurrently, she also debuted in film with a minor role as a factory worker in the musical movie “Les Misérables”, opposite renowned actors such as Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway.
During 2012 and ‘13, Charlotte portrayed Elinor Campbell in three episodes of the TV series “Holby City”, then landed a minor role in the British biographical film “The Invisible Woman”. She also appeared in single episodes of the TV series “Love and Marriage”, “Law & Order: UK”, and “Whitechapel”.
During the same year, Charlotte was chosen for her breakthrough role as Myranda in the TV series “Game of Thrones”, portraying Ramsay Bolton’s cannibal lover who has an uncontrollable desire to eat human flesh to extend her life. She assists Ramsay in his sadistic endeavors. Charlotte had a recurring role in the series, and appeared in eight episodes from 2013 to 2016.
2014 was a fruitful year for her filmography – she played the role of Jenny in the short film “Insomniacs”, later chosen to portray Philippa Hawking, Stephen Hawking’s sister, in the romantic biographical movie “The Theory of Everything”. Charlotte didn’t give up on theater after being cast for television roles – she performed in the play “Belarus” in 2012, followed by her portrayal of various characters in “Outlines” in 2013. From 2015 to 2016, she played the role of Hermia in the play “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at Liverpool Everyman, and Shelly in “Buried Child” at Trafalgar Studios. In 2017, she portrayed Zara in “Albion”, and played the role of Mom in “Good for Otto” in 2018.

Personal life
Charlotte Hope has been dating the actor Ruairi O’Connor since 2020. The couple met on the set of the TV series “The Spanish Princess” and their on-stage passion quickly turned into a real-life relationship. They haven’t shared many details about their relationship, but Charlotte frequently posts his pictures on her Instagram account. They also appeared together at the 28th Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards in the February of 2022, sharing a kiss after arrival. As of now, Charlotte and Ruairi aren’t engaged, and she doesn’t have any children.
In an interview with Town & Country Magazine, Hope revealed that she was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) when she was 18, a disease that makes it hard for women to have children.
