Jordan Rodrigues was born on 20 July 1992, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia,of Malaysian ethnicity, as his parents moved to Australia just a couple of months before his birth. He is the youngest in a family of three, and has an older brother and sister, but he hasn’t shared their names.

He attended Knox Grammar School, where he was a star athlete, excelling in various sports including basketball, and thought of becoming a professional basketball player, but was snubbed from a professional contract.

He appeared in 214 episodes of one of Australia’s most popular TV series until 2009, when he left the show to star in the TV family music-drama series “Dance Academy”. Chosen as the female lead, he starred opposite Xenia Goodwin and Alicia Banit as Christian Reed, in all 65 episodes of the award-winning series, which launched him to international stardom.

Concurrently, Jordan featured in the TV mini-series “Better Man” (2013), and starred in the short-lived romantic comedy-drama series “Camp”, with Rachel Griffiths, Thom Green and Dena Kaplan.

“Dance Academy” ended in 2013, but he returned as Christian Reed in “Dance Academy: The Movie” in 2017.

Meantime, he was chosen as Mat Tan in the award-winning TV drama series “The Fosters”, joiningd the show in its second season in 2014 in the recurring role until its end in 2018, appearing in 41 episodes of the popular series.

In 2017, Jordan secured one of his most popular roles to date as Miguel McPherson in the multiple Academy Award-nominated comedy-drama film “Lady Bird”, written and directed by Greta Gerwig, and starring Saoirse Ronan, Laurie Metcalf, and Tracy Letts, winning several awards for his work on the film, including the CinEuphoria Award in the category for Best Ensemble – International Competition, shared with his co-stars.

The same year, he secured yet another prominent role; thanks to his dancing skills, he was selected for the role of Blake in the film “Bring It On: Worldwide #Cheersmack”.

He continued his career in a stunning fashion, first chosen for the part of Trey Emory in the TV fantasy horror-drama series “Light as a Feather”, then joining Jessica Alba and Gabrielle Union for a five-episode sting in the award-winning action-crime series “L.A.’s Finest”.

In 2020 and 2021, he voiced Liu Kang in the animated films “Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge” and “Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms”.

Moreover, Jordan is working on the drama film “Left with Only Rain”, which is now in post-production, and is working on the TV series “National Treasure”, currently filming.
