Where is chef Sicily Sewell now? Net Worth, Husband, Age, Height
Who is Sicily Sewell?
A former actress who turned out chef and entrepreneur, Sicily Sewell is still perhaps known best for her role as Spirit Jones in the series “One on One” which was broadcast from 2001 until 2006; when Sicily left the show in 2005, everyone wanted to know what happened. It seems that the producers of the series decided to move in a different direction for the next season, so she was let go.
If you want to find out more about the path that led the young actress into becoming a chef, keep on scrolling, and we will tell you the naked truth about her life and work.
Early life and education
Sicily Sewell was born under the zodiac sign of Libra on 1 October 1985, in Pontiac, Michigan USA; she holds American nationality and her ethnicity is African-American.
Raised by her single mother Bernadine, alongside three older brothers, Sicily was an ordinary girl and hadn’t dreamed of becoming an actress, but when she dove into the entertainment industry aged eight, as she said, she fell in love with acting.
Speaking of her educational background, she attended a local high school, and upon matriculating in 2003, she didn’t go to college, but subsequently she continued her education when she decided to become a chef.
Acting career
Sicily made her acting debut in an episode of “Sesame Street” in 1993, and then was cast to play Young Aisha in the series “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” from 1995 until 1996, a role she reprised in the 1996 TV movie “Power Rangers Zeo: Zeo Quest”, followed by her role as Chloe in the 1998 horror movie “Children of the Corn V: Fields of Terror”. In the same year, Sicily portrayed Chantel in the romantic comedy-drama “How Stela Got Her Groove Back”, starring Whoopi Goldberg and Angela Bassett.
Sicily was next cast to play Diana in the TV mini-series “Mama Flora’s Family”, which was nominated for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Image Award for Outstanding Television Movie or Mini-Series.
In 2001, Sicily landed the role of Spirit in “One on One”, a comedy-drama series that followed the story of a sportscaster who had to take responsibility for raising his teenage daughter, Breanna, on his own; Sicily’s character was Breanna’s best friend. The series had eight award nominations, and won one.
It is an interesting fact that Sicilia tried her luck as a fashion designer, and most of the clothes she wore in the aforementioned show were made by her.
Concurrently, Sicily made an appearance as Teen Cece in an episode of the series “The Proud Family”, and after she left “One on One”, she was seen as Lisa Jones in “Fighting the Odds: The Marilyn Gambrell Story”. This biographical drama was based on the true story of Marilyn Gambrell, who was a former parole officer, and her colleague, and their efforts to set up a pioneering trial-based program at one of America’s high schools, to help children of imprisoned parents retrieve control of their lives, and not expect the same to happen to them.
Before she quit acting, Sicily made her last movie appearance as Chloe Spears in “Super Sweet 16: The Movie”, in 2007.
Restaurateur and chef
In one of her interviews, Sicily said that her family has a long tradition when it comes to skilled cookery, adding that she is much happier as a chef than she was while she worked as an actor. Sometime in 2005, while she was still acting in “One on One”, Sicily began cooking and baking, realizing that this was something she really enjoys.

In 2010, she enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, from which she graduated with honors, and concurrently, she was an intern at Los Angeles Times Test Kitchen.
Sicily and her mother opened a soul food restaurant, called Pinky and Red’s, settled in Berkley, California, and in 2019 Sicily became the chef of Colors, a high-profile 70-seat restaurant in New York City.
Her fans can follow her on her Instagram, where she posts her live cooking lessons, and shares her skills with an army of her followers, whose number has grown to over 35,000 followers.
Love life and husband
Sicily hasn’t been the subject of any affairs and controversies, both concerning her love life and her sexual orientation, and it’s widely known that in 2006 she revealed that she was a married woman.
Her husband is Christopher ‘Chris’ Johnson, an American drummer, although people often mistake him for a former National Football League (NFL) running back who has the same name. The two met in 2001, and soon afterwards began dating. Five years later, Chris proposed to Sicily, and they exchanged their wedding vows on 17 May 2006, in a private ceremony.
On 17 November 2007, Sicily gave birth to their first daughter, Madison Sierra Johnson, and their second daughter, Marlee Johnson, was born on 12 December 2011.
As of September 2022, although there were some rumors about them being divorced, the truth is that Sicily has neither confirmed nor denied these assumptions, however, judging by her social media accounts, it seems that Christopher is absent from her life.
She wrote in her bio on Twitter ‘Madison and Marlee’s Mum’ while her marital status is unknown, and one thing about her social media accounts is also confusing, since she goes by the name ‘Sicily Sierra’.
Age, height, and net worth
Sicily’s age is 36; she is someone who often changes the way she looks, and recently she dyed her brown hair pink. Speaking of her body measurements, Sicily weighs around 130lbs (58kgs) while she’s 4ft 11ins (1.49m) tall, with vital statistics of 37-26-38.
According to sources, the average salary in the USA for a Chef is around $20 per hour or around $4,500 per month. If you wondered about Sicily’s income, don’t forget that she worked as an actress, is a co-owner of a restaurant, and currently works as a chef in one of the prestigious New York City restaurants. As of September 2022, her net worth has been estimated at over $5 million.
