Fans of the science-fiction action-drama series “The Last Ship” were left with the big question after the premiere of the third season of the series was released in 2016, when they realized that the character of Doctor Rachel Scott wouldn’t be in the cast anymore. The woman who devoted her time to develop a cure for the virus that wiped out the planet, was killed by the immunes last season but for most of the viewers it was hard to believe that she was really dead.

The actress who portrayed this character is Rhona Mitra, and people wanted to know what happened to her, and why she left the show, however, neither she nor the showrunners have given an official statement.

Early life and education

Rhona Natasha Mitra was born under the zodiac sign of Leo on 9 August 1976, in Paddington, London, England, thus she holds British nationality although she comes from a family of Irish, English, Bengali and Indian descent.

Her father, Anthony Mitra is a cosmetic surgeon, but the occupation of her mother, Nora Downey, isn’t revealed; Rhona has two brothers, about whom little is known, except that she’s a middle child.

Their parents divorced in 1984, and Rhona was sent to boarding school; she claims that she was expelled from both she attended.

She had an interest in acting from an early age, and when she was nine, she met Judi Dench, a famous popular actress, mother to one of her classmates, and although she didn’t know that Judi was an actress, Rhona thought that she was an extraordinary woman, and after her friend told her about his mother’s occupation, she decided what she would do when she grew-up. Upon matriculating in 1994, she didn’t enrol in college, but pursued her acting career.

As of May 2022, Rhona seems to be single, she hasn’t been married or engaged, and doesn’t have children.
