Who is Makenzie Vega?

American actress Makenzie Jade Vega Norfolk, was born in Los Angeles, California USA, on 10 February 1994, meaning that her zodiac sign Aquarius. She’s had roles in nearly 30 movies and TV series, and is perhaps best known for her playing of Grace Florrick in the critically acclaimed mystery crime series “The Good Wife”, created by Michelle and Robert King, and which starred Julianna Margulies, Chris Noth and Josh Charles. It follows Alicia Florrick whose state attorney husband’s just been imprisoned because of a sex and corruption scandal, and who now has to work as a litigator to financially support herself and her children; the series aired from 2009 to 2016 and won 36 of its 250 award nominations.

Makenzie’s still active today in the film industry, and is currently shooting for the upcoming comedy movie “Growing Up Norman”.

Education and early life

Makenzie and her younger sisters Alexa and Krizia were raised in Los Angeles by their American mother Gina Denise Rue who’s a former model, and their Colombian father Baruch Jairo Vega, who’s a fashion photographer, and was an informant for the DEA; Makenzie also has an older half-sister Margaux Vega, born in 1981, and two younger half-siblings Greylin James (born in 2000) and Jet James (born in 2005). Her sister Alexa’s today also a successful actress, and is perhaps best known for her playing of Carmen Cortez in the movie franchise “Spy Kids”.

One can say that Makenzie was pushed into the film industry, as she was only five years old when she made her debut film appearance playing Maria in the 1999 western drama “Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman: The Movie”, while the following year saw her play Annie Campbell in the fantasy comedy film “The Family Man”. In 2000 and 2001, Makenzie starred as Eliza Ryan in the comedy series “The Geena Davis Show”, created by Terri Minsky, and which also stared Geena Davis and Peter Horton; it follows party planner Teddie Cochran who’s begun dating American author and father of two Max Ryan; the series was nominated for four awards.

Makenzie then continued acting while attending elementary, and then high school; she matriculated in 2012, and then chose to focus on her career in the film industry, rather than to pursue a college degree.

The year 2001 saw Makenzie play Chloe in the crime comedy drama “Made”, and in 2004, she was cast to play Diana Gordon in the mystery horror thriller “Saw”, written and directed by James Wan, and which starred Cary Elwes, Leigh Whannell and Danny Glover. It follows two people who’ve awoken in a room without knowing how they got there – the movie won eight of its 18 award nominations.

A couple of Makenzie’s following roles were in the 2004 family comedy drama “Chestnut: Hero of Central Park”, the 2005 crime thriller “Sin City” and the 2006 romantic fantasy comedy “Just My Luck”.

The year 2006 also saw her play Prison Truck Little Girl in the hit science fiction action “X-Men: The Last Stand”, directed by Brett Ratner, and which starred Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry. It follows the mutated people who’ve begun fighting the human government, and the movie won seven of its 47 award nominations.

Makenzie played Paige Hardwicke in the 2007 romantic comedy drama “In the Land of Women”, and her following role came seven years later, when cast to portray Sam Gleason in the 2014 mystery crime drama “The Assault”. The year 2018 saw her play Toy in the drama “The Beach House”, directed by Roger Spottiswoode, and which starred Minka Kelly, Andie MacDowell and Chad Michael Murray. It follows Caretta ‘Cara’ Rutledge who’s returned to her family’s beach house wanting to fix it, when she and her mother save hundreds of sea turtles during a devastating storm.

Makenzie’s three most recent movie roles have been in the 2018 romantic comedy “Love, of Course”, the 2020 thriller “InstaPsycho”, and the 2022 horror thriller “Exploited”.

In 2006, Makenzie played Mary Nicks in the episodes “Wrongful Death” and “Crucified” of the crime thriller drama “Justice”, and she then appeared in the 2007 episode “All Ghosts Lead to Grandview” of the fantasy drama “Ghost Whisperer”, and the 2009 episode “Vera” of the romantic drama “ER”.

Makenzie’s had only two other TV series roles. She played Gloria Hernandez in the 2016 episode “The Inverse” of the romantic comedy drama “Heartbeat”, and the year 2018 saw her as Sarah Carlin in the popular mystery thriller drama “13 Reasons Why”, which Brian Yorkey created, and starred Christian Navarro, Katherine Langford and Dylan Minnette. It follows Clay Jensen as he’s investigating the alleged suicide of his crush and classmate – the series aired from 2017 to 2020 and won five of its 20 award nominations.

Makenzie’s highly secretive when it comes to speaking in public about her love life, however, she revealed four weeks after the wedding that she’d married Australian model and social media star Blair Norfolk. The two exchanged vows on 4 February 2017, in a secret wedding attended by only their best man and maid of honor; Makenzie gave birth to their daughter Marlo Norfolk on 19 December 2020.

Blair’s followed by over 13,000 people on Instagram, and has uploaded close to 800 pictures and videos, however, he maintains his privacy and has thus made his account private, meaning that only his followers can view his posts.

Makenzie hasn’t mentioned the men whom she had been with prior to meeting Blair – she’s married to Blair Norfolk as of November 2022, and they have a daughter together.

Makenzie enjoys running her Instagram account, which today numbers nearly 70,000 followers, and she’s posted close to 500 pictures and videos onto the social media network, with most of her newer content featuring herself and Blair’s daughter.

She enjoys being physically active, and goes running on a daily basis, while she also has multiple training sessions at the gym every week.

Makenzie’s acting career’s taken her to over 20 US states, but she prefers to travel overseas and has been to many European countries, with her favorite city to travel to being Milano, Italy.
