During his teenage years, King Yella was actively involved in street life in Chicago, eventually becoming a member of the Out of Block gang. His musical journey officially began on 6 August 2010 ,with the release of his debut single entitled “Swagg Check”, marking the start of his professional career. His talent was noticed by fellow artists and members of such groups as STL and GPG, so they started collaborating with him.

Yella continued to create music over the following years, even though he was reportedly sentenced to spend 30 years in jail in 2013, when just 23 years old.
