Christine Elise McCarthy is an American actor, probably known best for her portrayal of Emily Valentine in “Beverly Hills, 90210”, and Kyle in “Child’s Play 2”. While she continues pursuing her acting career, Christine is also a producer, photographer, food blogger, and a YouTuber.
Early life, family, educational background
Christine was born on 12 February 1965, in Boston, Massachusetts USA. Her mother is Gail Rush, a successful photographer, but details about her father aren’t widely known, only that he was an artist. Christine seems to be the only child, raised by her parents in Boston.
Elise matriculated from Boston Latin School in 1983, then according to her LinkedIn profile, she attended Boston University from 1983 through 1984, and studied in the faculty of Communication and Media Studies, but apparently didn’t graduate.

Career as an actress
At the beginning of her career, Elise usually participated in single episodes or played recurring roles in TV series. In 1989, she landed her first role as Rhonda Gielgud in the TV series “Head of the Class”. followed by her portrayal of Catherine Baker in an episode of “Baywatch”.
One of the most remarkable periods of Elise’s career started in 1990, when she starred in the final season of “China Beach”, portraying Karen Lanier in four episodes, then during the same year, she had a role in the movie “Child’s Play 2”.
In 1991, she was cast for the TV series “Beverly Hills, 90210” which brought her incredible fame and recognition, then in 1993, she starred in two movies: “Boiling Point” and “Body Snatchers”.
After several short appearances in TV series, Elise landed another big role, in 1995 playing the role of Harper Tracy in 15 episodes of “ER”, followed in 1996 by playing the role of Erin Coffey in “L.A. Firefighters”.
Throughout her career, McCarthy has had multiple single of guest appearances in popular TV shows, such as “Fantasy Island”, “The Strip”, “Strong Medicine”, “Judging Amy”, and “JAG”.
In 2017, she reprised her role as Kyle from “Child’s Play 2” in the movie “Cult of Chucky”, and later in the TV series “Chucky” (2021). Meantime, in 2019, Elise portrayed Emily Valentine once again in “BH90210”, a reboot of the original “Beverly Hills, 90210”.

McCarthy was never content with being just an actor. In 2010, she directed, produced, wrote, and starred in the short film “Bathing & the Single Girl”; the movie showcases the hardships of dating and bathing with single men, depicting the struggles of a young woman in a humorous manner. The film won around 20 awards, and was screened at close to 100 festivals.

Elise dated fellow “Beverly Hills, 90210” actor Jason Priestley back in the ’90s; the couple lived together for five years, from 1992 to 1997. The exact reason for their break-up is unknown.
