Who is Adam Rodriguez?
Adam Michael Rodriguez was born in Yonkers, New York State USA, on 2 April 1975 – his zodiac sign is Aries, and he holds American nationality. He’s an actor, film writer and director, with more than 60 acting credits to his name, while he’s perhaps still known best for his portrayal of Eric Delko, one of the lead characters in the popular action crime series “CSI: Miami”. It was created by Ann Donahue and Carol Mendelsohn, also starred David Caruso and Emily Procter, and follows the work of the Crime Scene Investigations unit operating in Miami, Florida; the series aired from 2002 to 2012 and won 30 awards, including two Primetime Emmys, while it was nominated for 44 other awards.
Early life and education
Adam was raised in Yonkers alongside his sister Vanessa Rodriguez Spencer, by their father of Puerto Rican and Cuban descent, Ramon Rodriguez, and their mother Janet of Puerto Rican descent; Ramon worked at the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as an executive, while Janet was an airline ticket agent.
Adam was physically highly active during his teenage years, and played baseball while attending Clarkstown High School North in New York City; he wanted to go professional, but an injury forced him to give up on his dream.
He matriculated in 1993, and spent the following a couple of years working as a stockbroker, prior to focusing solely on acting.
Roles in TV series
Adam made his debut TV series appearance in the 1997 episode “Upstairs, Downstairs” of the mystery crime drama “NYPD Blue”, and gained recognition in the following year with his portrayal of Officer Hector Villanueva in 20 episodes of the crime drama “Brooklyn South”. It was created by Steven Bochco and Bill Clark, starred Jon Tenney, Michael DeLuise and Gary Basaraba, and follows the lives of police officers working at a Brooklyn police station; the series won four awards, including a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, while it was nominated for five other awards.
The 2000s saw Adam appear in an episode or two of many popular series, such as the comedy dramas “Queens Supreme” and “Six Feet Under”, and the adventure action mini-series “Category 7: The End of the World”.
His following notable role came in 2014, when cast to play Preston Cruz in the crime drama “Reckless”, created by Dana Stevens, and which starred Kim Wayans, Michael Gladis and Gregory Harrison. It follows a Yankee litigator and a lawyer who’ve fallen in love – the series was nominated for two awards.
Three of Adam’s most recent TV series roles have been in eight episodes of the 2020 crime fantasy drama “Penny Dreadful: City of Angels”, the 2021 episode “Rickdependence Spray” of the animated adventure comedy “Rick and Morty” (voice role), and six episodes of the 2021 musical crime drama “Ordinary Joe”.
Roles in movies
Adam made his debut film appearance in the 2001 science fiction mystery drama “Impostor”, directed by Gary Felder, and which starred Shane Brolly, Vincent D’Onofrio and Gary Sinise. It follows a government weapons specialist who’s been accused of being an android sent by aliens to destroy Earth – the movie was nominated for a Fantasporto International Fantasy Award for Best Film.
A couple of Adam’s following roles were in the 2002 drama “King Rikki”, the 2005 short thriller “Keeper of the Past” and the 2006 romantic comedy drama “Love and Debate”.
He played Tito in the critically acclaimed 2012 comedy drama “Magic Mike”, directed by Steven Soderbergh, and which starred Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer and Olivia Munn. It tells the story of a male stripper who’s teaching a dancer how to party and pick up girls, and the movie won nine of the 23 awards for which it was nominated.
Three of Adam’s most recent film roles have been in the 2017 thriller drama “Axis” (voice role), the 2018 animated action adventure “Incredibles 2” (voice role) and the 2021 romantic drama “A Christmas Proposal”.
Adam wrote and directed the 2011 episode “Hunting Ground”, and the 2012 episode “At Risk” of the series “CSI: Miami”, while he also directed the 2015 episode “Dam Breakthrough” of the series “Scorpion”, and the 2018 episodes “Ashley” and “Last Gasp” of the series “Criminal Minds”.

Adam’s won three of the seven awards for which he’s been nominated: a 2010 Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture, for his performance in “I Can Do Bad All by Myself”, a 2011 ALMA Award for Favorite TV Actor – Leading Role, and a 2012 Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Actor: Action, both for his performance in “CSI: Miami”.
Love life and wife
Even though Adam’s a highly secretive man who prefers to keep the details of his love life to himself, it’s still widely known that he’s today married.
He exchanged vows with American model Grace Gail in 2016, in a small, private ceremony attended by only a couple of their closest friends and family members. They have three children together, with their youngest Bridgemont Bernard Rodriguez having been born on 16 March 2020; Adam and Grace prefer to keep their kids away from the media’s attention, and thus virtally nothing is known about them.
Adam hasn’t mentioned any other women whom he’s perhaps been with – as of July 2022, he’s married to Grace Gail, and they have three children together.
Hobbies and other interests
Adam’s an Instagram star, as he’s today followed by more than 500,000 people on the network, while he’s uploaded over 350 pictures and videos, the majority of which feature him during his everyday life.
He spends the majority of his spare time with his children, and they can be seen featured in many of his Instagram pictures.
Adam’s physically quite active, and has four to five training sessions at the gym every week, mostly because it’s important for his acting career to stay in shape.
He’s passionate about travelling and has been to many US states and European countries, while his dream travel destination is Sydney, Australia.
