What happened to Paul McCartney’s step-daughter Heather? Wiki

Heather McCartney Wiki

Being a ‘Beatles’ child’ might sound exciting, and you may think that these children were born and raised in luxury, however, there is the other side of the medal. Let us tell you about Paul McCartney’s adopted daughter, born Heather Lousie See, on 31 December 1962, in Tucson, Arizona USA. The only child of Linda Eastman and Joseph Melville See Junior, her parents divorced when Heather was a year old, and her mother moved with her to New York City.

Linda was a celebrity photographer; in 1967, she met Paul McCartney, and the two became close friends. At that time, he was engaged to English actress Jane Asher, then after they broke up, Paul invited Linda and Heather to move into his house in London, England.

Linda and Paul married on 2 March 1969, and later he adopted Heather and raised her as his daughter; he used to sing her to sleep at bedtime, read her books, play and draw with her. According to him, they have a special bond, although Linda and Paul had three more children together, Mary, Stella and James.

Speaking about Heather’s educational background, she attended a local high school in London, and upon matriculating in 1980, she didn’t enroll in college but worked various jobs, in kitchens and pubs, to working as a wildlife park ranger.

Since she didn’t seem able to settle into anything, her mother suggested she try photography, and she began working as a printer at The Photographers Workshop in London, winning the Young Black and White Printer of the Year Award, which lead to her decision to enroll at the Art College, where she discovered her talent for ceramic design and pottery.

What happened to her?

During her twenties, Heather suffered what she called a ‘personal identity crisis’, and spent some time at a clinic in Sussex, England, being treated for depression. After recovering somewhat, she went to Mexico, where she lived with natives of the Tarahumara and Huichol tribes, and as she later stated, this helped her more than any medical treatment.

She once spoke about her time there saying: ‘The first time I went down there, I had $200 in my pocket. My mum and dad didn’t say, ‘You’re being taken care of here’. They allowed me to experience it for myself, and that was very important to me. I spent time with people who weren’t interested in money.

They didn’t want the latest washing machine or television. They had nothing, but they were happy. They just wanted to be left alone and allowed me to be – and I could relate to that.’

When she left Mexico, she reunited with her biological father, and spent some time with him in Tucson before she returned to England to her mother and Paul.

In 1995, Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer, and when on 17 April 1998 she died, Heather was deeply affected, but found solace in pottery. In the following year, she launched her line of houseware products, inspired by the art of ancient Mexicans, called Heather McCartney Houseware Collection.

More bad news struck Heather as a bolt of lightning, when her biological father, Joseph, committed suicide on 19 March 2000; after this tragic event, Heather completely withdrew from public life. In her last interview for the Telegraph newspaper she said:

‘I think it’s because there have been times when I’ve shown people what I am really like, and they’ve not been able to deal with it. And when that happens, it makes me question what it is about me that people can’t cope with. But I’m through that now. I’m comfortable on my own. I don’t need to be with other people – unless they actually feel they want to be with me.’

Speaking about her love life, some rumors were saying that she was in a relationship with Billy Idol, since as a teenager she was into the punk rock scene, and was seen at concerts and parties, however, these assumption haven’t been confirmed.

As of March 2022, there’s no indication that Heather has married or has children, or indeed has been or is in a long-term relationship, but it’s known that she’s in a good relationship with Paul, and that she still does pottery.

Who is her father, Paul McCartney?

English singer-songwriter and musician who gained worldwide fame as the member of the epic band “The Beatles”, Paul was born on 18 June 1942, in Liverpool, England, and is today aged 79, but still active on the music scene. We are sure that there is no need to present to you who were “The Beatles”, and also there isn’t much unknown about Paul’s music career.

Maybe you didn’t know that he is a largely self-taught musician, and that besides bass guitar, he plays acoustic and electric guitar, keyboards, and drums.

During his solo career, he released 15 albums; one of them, entitled “Ram”, released on 17 May 1971, was the only album credited as the husband-and-wife music duo, recorded by Paul and his wife Linda.

The love story between Heather’s mother and Paul had, as Heather cited, ‘lifelong influence’ on her, and she considers him to be her father, calls him ‘Dad’, and her biological father ‘Poppa’.

Paul and Linda remained married until she died in 1998, and at her funeral, Paul said that they had a great relationship, also that they were ‘just a boyfriend and girlfriend having babies’.

In 2002, Paul married Heather Mills, a former model, and the two had a daughter together, named Beatrice Milly, however, they separated in 2006, and their divorce was finalized in 2008.

Three years later, Paul married Nancy Shevell, with whom he was in a relationship since 2007; they had known each other for over 20 years before dating, since they both have homes in the popular The Hamptons, New York. Nancy is a vice president of a family company and is about 18 years younger than Paul, but this isn’t an obstacle for the two of them, who ‘til this day are still together.
