Who is Bethany Mota?
American YouTuber and social media star Bethany Noel Mota was born in Merced County, California USA, on 7 November 1995, making her zodiac sign Scorpio. She’s probably known best for her self-titled YouTube channel, which she launched on 8 June 2009; there are nearly 10 million people subscribed to it today, while all its videos combined have been watched nearly a billion times. The channel was initially called “Macbarbie07” and most of Bethany’s videos featured her showing off the clothes which she’d bought, while she’s today mostly focused on uploading videos which feature her during her everyday life.
Education and early life
Bethany and her older sister Brittany were raised in Merced County by their parents Tony and Tammy Mota, however, not a lot about them is known because Bethany respects their privacy, except that they are both of Portuguese and Mexican descent.
The family moved to Los Banos, California when Bethany was still quite young, and she was homeschooled for nearly the entirety of her education, only attending third to sixth grade at a public school.

Other works
Bethany’s also a musician, and her debut single “Need You Right Now” was released on 13 October 2014, peaking at #30 on the Danish Tracklisten record chart. She covered the Jessie J’s song “Flashlight” on 4 May 2015, and in August of the same year released her second song, “Be Who You Wanna Be”.
Bethany partnered with both multinational fast fashion retailer Forever 21 and department store chain J. C. Penney in the first half of the 2010s, and in December 2013, she designed her own clothing line, as well as launching an accessories and perfume line; it’s widely known that Bethany often incorporates her fans’ ideas into her designs. In 2019, she founded and began working as a co-designer at the line of delicate jewelry for everyday use Atom&Matter, and in February 2021, Bethany was interviewed by the magazine “Bloomberg” about the jewelry.

She toured around the USA in January 2014, and the same year saw her report for the talk-show “Entertainment Tonight” on the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, and serve as a guest judge on the reality show “Project Runway”. It was revealed in September 2014 that Bethany would be competing in the 19th season of the competition show “Dancing with the Stars”, and she reached the finals with her partner, American professional Latin and ballroom dancer Derek Hough.
In 2016, Bethan published her memoir “Make Your Mind Up: My Guide to Finding Your Own Style, Life, and Motivation”.
