Sara Elena Ramirez was born on 31 August 1975 under the zodiac sign of Virgo, in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico, where she was raised by her parents Alberto Ramirez and Luisa Vargas, until they divorced when she was eight years old. She then moved with her mother to the United States, and settled in San Diego, California. Her mother encouraged her interest in music, and sent her to attend the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts, where she also developed her love for acting, and started performing in such stage productions as “Into The Woods”, “Hello, Dolly!” and “Annie”.
