Jessica was raised in New York City alongside her older brother Charlie Caban, by their Puerto Rican parents Charles Caban and Maggie Caban, both of whom worked at the same hospital, havingmet when they were 13 years old.
She became interested in modelling while attending a local high school, and was physically highly active during her teenage years, believing that playing sports and dancing would sculpt her figure, and make her ready for when it’s time to launch her modelling career.
Jessica was also into acting, was a member of her school’s drama club, and appeared in many plays performed at both the school and a local theatre. Upon matriculating in 2000, she chose not to pursue a college degree, but to focus on acting.

Jessica launched her modelling career in 2002, when chosen to model for famous American actress and singer Jennifer Lopez’s clothing line J-LO; she’s since starred in many commercials and appeared on the cover page of a couple of magazines, while she’s perhaps known best for her appearance in Proyecto Uno’s music video “Holla”.
Acting credits
Jessica has three acting credits. She played the lead character Thea Gala Larson in the 2010 romantic movie “Are You for Great Sex?”, written and directed by Cynthia Hsiung, and which also starred Walter Vincent and Taso Mikroulis. The film was based on a true story, and follows two people who are in love; it won four of the five awards for which it was nominated.
Jessica appeared in the 2012 music video “Bruno Mars: Whatta Man”, and portrayed Sonia in five episodes of the critically acclaimed comedy “Jane the Virgin” between 2016 and 2018. It was created by Jennie Snyder Urman, starred Gina Rodriguez, Andrea Navedo and Yael Grobglas, and follows a devout Catholic woman who’s learned that she’s been accidentally artificially inseminated; the series aired from 2014 to 2019 and won 21 of the 98 awards for which it was nominated, including two Primetime Emmy nominations.

Peter Gene Hernandez, known better by his professional name Bruno Mars, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii USA, on 8 October 1985 – his zodiac sign is Libra, and he holds American nationality. He’s probably known best for his career as a singer, especially for his singles “Lazy Song”, “If I Was Your Man”, and “Locket Out of Heaven”, with the latter two having topped the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.
Bruno was raised in Honolulu alongside his five siblings, by their father Peter Hernandez who is half Ashkenazi Jewish and half Puerto Rican, and their mother Bernadette San Pedro Bayot who was of Spanish and Filipino descent; Bernadette died on 1 June 2013 from complications caused by a brain aneurysm. Bruno became interested in music mostly because he was exposed to it from a very early age – his parents mostly listened to rhythm and blues, hip hop and rock ‘n’ roll. He was only four when he began performing with his parents’ band The Love Notes, and was six when he made a cameo appearance in the 1992 romantic comedy movie “Honeymoon in Vegas”. Bruno was 12 when his parents divorced, and he went on to live with his brother and father, although the trio was homeless for a while, living in their car, sleeping on rooftops and at an abandoned bird zoo, at which Peter used to work.
Bruno switched a couple of schools because of bullying, eventually matriculating from President Roosevelt High School in 2003; he then moved to Los Angeles, California and began working on his career as a musician.
He signed a contract with Motown Records in 2004, but was dropped a year later, then signed a contract with Westside Independent in 2005, but didn’t make any progress in the following five years, which led him to consider leaving music behind him.
