Niurka Marcos was born on 24 November 1967 in Havana, Cuba, one of six children born to Carmelo Marcos, a Cuban navy major, and Salustiana ‘Celeste’ Calle, a homemaker. Her siblings are Martha, Maribel, Maria del Carmen, Ernesto, and Thomas.

Niurka Marcos made her acting debut in 1998 in the role of Myrtha in the telenovela “Vivo por Elena”.
