Shawn Hatosy is an American TV and film actor, and director, perhaps known best for playing Andrew Cody in the acclaimed TV series “Animal Kingdom”, and is also well recognized for his roles in the films “Alpha Dog,” “Anywhere but Here”, and “In & Out.”
Age, Early Life, and Education Background
Shawn Wayne Hatosy was born in Frederick, Maryland USA, under the Capricorn zodiac sign on 29 December 1975, which makes him 46 years old as of mid-2022. He’s of German, French, Irish and Hungarian descent, born to loan officer Carol Ann and Wayne Thomas Hatosy, and brought up in Loch Haven, Maryland; he hasn’t revealed whether he has any siblings.

Shawn made his TV debut in 1995, as Lyle Warner in the series “Homicide: Life on the Street”. The following years saw him playing Chester Manning in “Law & Order,” Owen in “Felicity” in 2001 and 2002, and Jeff Simon in 2005’s episode “Weeping Willows” of the police procedural series “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.” He’s since featured in many other acclaimed shows, such as the crime series “Southland” together with Ben McKenzie, Regina King and Kevin Alejandro, and thereafter in “Hawaii Five-0,” “Criminal Minds” in 2011, and “Reckless” in 2014.
One of Shawn’s biggest roles came in 2016, in the TNT drama TV series “Animal Kingdom,” in which he played Pope Cody, co-starring with Scott Speedman, Ellen Barkin and Daniella Alonso. The series was developed by Johnathan Alonso based on the 2010 movie of the same name, and follows the story of the 17-year-old J Cody, who goes to live with his grandmother, Janine Cody after his parents die. He finds out that she is the leader of a criminal family enterprise, and is helped by his four sons to run it. The TV series has aired for six seasons so far, and in 2018 was nominated for the Saturn Award in the category of The Best Action/Thriller TV series. He recently played Marc Lee in an episode of the TV show “SEAL Team” in 2022.

2004 saw Shawn nominated for a Satellite Award in the category of Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Miniseries, Series, or Motion Picture Made for TV, for his contribution to the film “Solder’s Girl.” He was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series for his role in “Southland.” Unfortunately, Shawn hasn’t bagged an award, as of 2022.

Hatosy is a married man, who wedded his longtime girlfriend the American actress Kelly Albanese, in December 2010. The couple has three children – Cassius born on 16 June 2006, Leo on 18 November 2012, and then their lastborn Finn Hatosy on 29 October 2017. The family of five is seemingly living a happy life together in Los Angeles, California.
Hatosy was previously romantically linked with his first girlfriend, the American entertainer Barretto; the duo dated for three years until 1999.
