Career as a Project Manager
Before she became an international star known for her unique recipes, Ruby had just completed her architecture studies, and was looking for a full-time regular job. She was out of luck for the next two months, after which she was recruited by the agency Talascend, who got her on an interview for a Network Rail project management assistant.
She admitted that she never thought that she would join the rail business, however, being without a job for some time made her accept the offer, and she spent the next three and a half years working in Wigan, Liverpool, Manchester and Warrington in the north of England before she left her spot and traveled the world for the next half a year.

Ruby returned to London, jobless, but found herself making various recipes from a bread-making book she’d got from her sister in the past.
However, after some time, she received an offer to return to Network Rail and its systems, this time as a project manager on the Canal Tunnels between the East Coast main line near Kings Cross station, and the Thameslink route at St. Pancras.
However, her newfound hobby followed her, and in 2018 she auditioned for “The Great British Baking Show”.
That year, she signed up for “The Great British Bake Off”, joining 11 other amateur bakers, including Briony Williams, Kim-Joy Hewlett and Rahul Mandal, among others.
The show features 12 amateur bakers who compete weekly, crafting various foods over the course of 10 weeks, trying to impress the two judges and so move to the next round.
Ruby was impressive on the show, and she quickly became one of the main stars, scheduled for a win in the show. As “The Great British Baking Show” progressed, Ruby’s popularity also grew, and she launched an Instagram account on which she began sharing some of her recipes.
Although one of the youngest contestants in the show, Ruby reached week 10, the final week. Her opponents in the last bake-off were Rahul Mandal and Kim-Joy Hewlett, and were tasked to make 12 iced doughnuts, both filled and ring, then six pita breads in 90 minutes, and for the showstopper, they had to create a landscape dessert with three different elements in four and a half hours.
Ruby was named only third, with Kim-Joy the winner and Rahul the second, but despite not winning the show, Ruby gained international acclaim, and her Instagram account now has more than 250,000 followers. She’s continued sharing her recipes, including for her lemon tiramisu.
To speak further of her accomplishments, Ruby made a guest appearance in the talk show “This Morning” in 2019 and 2020, while also in 2020 she returned to “The Great British Baking Show” for the special “The Great Christmas Bake Off”, again finishing third in the standings.

The same year, she featured in the game show “Richard Osman’s House of Games”, in which celebrities participate in a series of games and puzzles, testing their general knowledge.
