A former basketball player, rapper and actor, Percy Romeo Miller, also known as Lil’ Romeo or simply Romeo, rose to prominence after releasing his debut single “My Baby” in 2001, while his acting career blossomed in the following years, when he starred in his own, self-titled TV series “Romeo!”, which brought him the Kid’s Choice Award for Favorite TV Actor, in 2005.

Early life, family, and education

Romeo was born on 19 August 1989, which makes him aged 33 as of 2022, and his zodiac sign is Leo. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana USA, Romeo holds American nationality, and comes from a family of African-American heritage.

His parents are entrepreneur and rapper Master P, and a former female rapper, Sonya C. His father gained fame in the 1990s with the success of his group TRU, whose member was his wife, Sonya. Master P is perhaps known best for his Platinum single “Make ‘Em Say Uhh!” which was released in 1997. Romeo’s parents divorced in 2014 after nearly 25 years of marriage.

He has six siblings, namely, Mercy, Hercy, Vercy, Inty, Itali and Tytyana, who died on 29 May 2022, aged 25. From his father’s previous relationships, he has a half-sister Cymphonique, who is also an actress, and a half-brother Veno, also an actor.

Romeo launched his career as a rapper signing for his father’s record label, No Limit Records, and released his first single, which peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2001.

In the same year, Romeo released his debut album, “Lil’ Romeo”, which was certified gold, followed by his second album “Game Time” in 2002. Two years later, he released his third album “Romeoland”, which was the least popular. His first digital album, “Lottery” was released in 2006, and has sold 300,000 copies to date.

In 2008, Romeo announced work on his fourth album, entitled “Gumbo Station”, however, after releasing his first single from this album, “Get Low Wit It”, which failed to gain success, in the following year he released the compilation album “Get Low”, which also failed to peak on Billboard charts.

Later, Romeo formed groups, and had various collaborations, however, his fourth album still hasn’t seen the light of day.

Romeo made his acting debut in the series “Romeo!” (2003-2006), a family comedy about a boy who knows what it means to be a friend, even if it also means that he must break the law.
