Who is Jessica Parker Kennedy?
Jessica was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on 3 October 1984 – her zodiac sign is Libra, and she holds Canadian nationality. She’s an actress with close to 50 credits to her name, while she’s probably known best for her portrayal of Nora Allen in the hit action adventure series “The Flash”. It was created by Greg Berlanti and Geoff Johns, stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton and Danielle Panabaker, and follows Barry Allen who has become super-fast now that he has been struck by lightning; the series has been airing since 2014, and has won 29 of the 122 awards for which it has been nominated.
Early life and education
Jessica was raised in Calgary as an only child, by her white mother Tami who was a teacher; her black father wasn’t around while she was growing up, and Jessica has revealed that she had a hard time at school, because she wasn’t able to fit in. She has also stated that she had only a single friend: the only black girl at school. She became interested in gymnastics at a very early age, and began taking lessons when she was around six, however, Jessica’s mother was afraid that she might hurt herself, and forbade her to continue practicing it. Jessica then became interested in acting while attending a local high school, joined its drama club, and appeared in various plays performed at the school. She was also quite sporting during her teenage years, and played both soccer and volleyball for the school teams.
Jessica matriculated in 2002, and because she hasn’t spoken about her further education, it’s believed that she hasn’t attended college; she worked a couple of jobs for the following three years, prior to launching her career in the film industry.
Roles in movies
Jessica made her debut film appearance in the 2005 family comedy “Santa Baby”, directed by Ron Underwood, and which starred Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ivan Sergei and George Wendt. The movie follows the life of Santa Claus’ daughter Mary Claus, who has to take over the control of North Pole now that her father has fallen ill. A couple of Jessica’s notable performances in the remainder of the 2000s were in the 2007 science fiction horror thriller “Decoys 2: Alien Seduction”, and in 2008 the musical family comedy “Another Cinderella Story” and the action crime drama “Amber Alert: Terror on the Highway”.
She gained recognition in 2011, when cast to play Jackie in the romantic comedy drama “50/50”, directed by Jonathan Levine, and which starred Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen and Anna Kendrick. Roles in TV series
Jessica’s debut TV series role was her portrayal of Natalee in all the 10 episodes of the 2007 musical drama “Kaya”, but she only gained recognition in 2009, when cast to play Beatrice in the horror mini-series “Valemont”; it also starred Kristen Hager and Eric Balfour, and follows a teenage girl who’s trying to discover more about her brother and his death at the elite college Valemont. The mini-series won one of the five awards for which it was nominated. A couple of Jessica’s following roles were in an episode or two of the action thriller “Undercovers”, the hit action adventure drama “Smallville”, and the drama “Brothers & Sisters”.
In 2011 and 2012, she starred as Melissa Glaser in the award-winning fantasy horror drama “The Secret Circle”, and the following year saw her play the supporting character Megan Rose in the critically acclaimed romantic comedy drama “90210”. Between 2014 and 2017, Jessica starred as Max in the hit action adventure drama “Black Sails”, created by Robert Levine and Jonathan E. Steinberg, and which also starred Toby Stephens and Hannah New. It tells the story of Captain Flint and his pirates, and the series won 11 awards, including three Primetime Emmys, while it was nominated for 34 other awards. The two met sometime in the second half of the 2010s when they were shooting for a movie, and they moved in together in Los Angeles, California in 2020. Ronen came out as bisexual in April 2021, and Jessica was there to support him. Neither of the two have mentioned any other people whom they have perhaps been with, so as of June 2022, Jessica’s in a relationship with Ronen Rubinstein, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.

Jessica’s an Instagram star, as she’s today followed by close to 600,000 people, while she’s uploaded nearly 200 pictures onto the network, most of which have been taken during her everyday life. She’s a huge lover of animals, and has a pet dog; Jessica often shares pictures and videos on her Instagram account, which feature dogs from animal shelters, hoping to help them find a permanent home.
She’s keen on travelling, and has been to a couple of US states, mostly for work but also for pleasure; she’s also travelled overseas, visiting a couple of Asian and European countries – her dream travel destination is Iceland. Jessica has her own favorite actors and actresses, some of whom are Tom Cruise, the late Robin Williams, and Julia Roberts, while a couple of her favorite films include “The Last Samurai”, “Patch Adams” and “Notting Hill”.
