Who is Moises Arias?

Actor Moises Arias rose to prominence through his role as Rico in the series “Hannah Montana”, broadcast from 2006 until 2011, which brought him a nomination for the Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Series (Comedy or Drama) – Supporting Young Actor in 2009. Besides the mentioned role, he has over 40 acting credits to his name.

He’s perhaps known best for his role as Juan Pablo in the comedy movie “Nacho Libre”, also starring Jack Black, while to television series fans, he’s well known as Matt in “The Middle”; Moises is also known for his voice roles.

Early life and education

Moises was born under the zodiac sign of Taurus on 18 April 1994, in New York City, USA, thus he holds American nationality although he comes from a family of Colombian descent.

He was raised in New York City, by his parents Monica and Cesar Arias, about whom little is known, alongside his brother Mateo Arias, who is also an actor.

Talking about Moises’s educational background, he attended a local high school, and also studied at the Barbizon Modeling and Acting School; upon matriculating in 2012, he didn’t enroll in college, but pursued his acting career.

Roles in series

Moises made his acting debut in an episode of the series “Everybody Hates Chris” in 2005, followed by his role as Randall in “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” in 2006, before he was cast to voice Olly in the animated series “Dive Olly Dive” (2006-2009). Concurrently, he was cast to play his most notable role to date, as Rico in “Hannah Montana” from 2006 until 2011, and was heard as Fred in the short television series “Phineas and Ferb” in 2009.

Also in 2009, he portrayed Conscience in “Wizards of Waverly Place”, and two years later he was seen in an episode of the series “Love Bites”, while during 2012 and 2013, he portrayed Matt in the family comedy “The Middle” also starring Patricia Heaton, Charlie McDermott, and Neil Flynn.

In 2016 and ‘17, he was seen as Luis in “Jean-Claude Van Johnson”, while his next role came in 2020, when he guest-starred as Luca Jones in “The Good Doctor”, then in the following year, he starred in the podcast series “City of Ghosts”.

Roles in movies

Moises made his movie debut in the 2006 comedy “Nacho Libre”, followed by his role in the TV movie “Dadnapped” in 2009, and in the same year he was seen as Mario Ontiveros in “The Perfect Game”. He was then cast to play Rico in “Hannah Montana: The Movie”, followed by his role as Spiller in “The Secret World of Arrietty” in 2010. In 2012, he was seen as Quicktime in “We the Party”, and as Hollywood in “Noobz”.

Moises portrayed Biaggio in the 2013 movie “The Kings of Summer”, and concurrently, he was heard as Antonio Perez in the popular animated movie “Despicable Me 2”, also starring Steve Carell, Benjamin Bratt, and Kristen Wiig.

In the following years, he was seen starring in “The Stanford Prison Experiment” (2015), “Ben-Hur” (2016), and “Kong: Skull Island” (2017), among others.

Moises’ next role came in 2018, when he was seen as Phil in “Little Bitches”, followed by his role as Priest in the short movie “On Killer Robots”. In the same year, he was cast to play Special Guest Judge in another short movie “The Great American Mud Wrestle”.

Moises starred in numerous movies in 2019, such as “Monos”, “The Wall of Mexico” and “Five Feet Apart”, while in the following year he was seen in “Blast Beat” and “The King of Staten Island”, followed by his role as Gabriel Boullait in the 2021 drama movie “Jockey”. His fans will be happy to hear that Moises finished the filming of two new movies, entitled “Samaritan” and “American Murderer” which are set to be released in 2022.

Love life and relationships

There have been various rumors concerning both Moises’s love life and his sexual orientation, however, it is widely known that he’s straight, and that back in 2011, he was in a relationship with a girl known as Casiddy Sawchuk. The two often shared their joint photos on social media networks, and seemed to be ‘in love’, however, their love story ended a few months later; they didn’t share the reason for their break-up.

Moises was then rumored to be romantically linked with one of his fellows from “Hannah Montana”, however, his girlfriend is a popular young actress, Willow Smith, the daughter of famous actor Will Smith. The two were allegedly dating in 2014, and their joint photo, posted on his Instagram, featuring two of them in a bed caused many comments online.

At that time, Willow was 14 years old, and Moises was in his 20s, so many people commented that the photo of him shirtless and her laying on his lap was inappropriate. Will Smith commented about the photo saying: ‘We don’t do punishment. The way that we deal with our kids is, they are responsible for their lives. Our concept is, as young as possible, give them as much control over their lives as possible and the concept of punishment, our experience has been-it has a little too much of a negative quality.’

Willow’s mother, Jada Pinket Smith said that there was nothing sexual about that photo or that situation, ‘You guys are projecting your trash onto it, and you’re acting like covert pedophiles, and that’s not cool’, added Jada.

As of June 2022, it seems that Moises is single, he hasn’t been married or engaged, and doesn’t have children.

Age, height, and net worth

Moises’ age is 28 – he has brown hair and hazel eyes, weighs around 130lbs (60kgs) and is 5ft 2ins (1.57m) tall.

Thanks to his acting talent, Moises managed to earn a decent amount of money, and according to sources, as of June 2022, his net worth has been estimated at over $500,000.
