Meghan Ory (born 20 August 1982) is a talented Canadian actress who is best known for her roles as Red Riding Hood in the American drama series “Once Upon A Time” and as Riley Neal in “Intelligence,” a brief television series that aired on CBS.

Early Life

Meghan was born to Nathan E. Ory and Bennie Ory in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Although she is a Canadian national, she is of Ashkenazi Jewish descent. Her father is She has only one sibling, Jesse Ory, who is now a medical doctor.

Meghan and her family lived most of their lives in Victoria, where she attended Royal Oak Middle School before proceeding to Claremont Secondary School. Other details regarding her family and early childhood are not available. However, it is interesting to note that Meghan maintained an excellent performance in most after-school activities, especially acting. She did so well that she won the Fine Arts Award for Acting from Royal Oak in 1996.

The first award she received triggered her acting career, and she has since pursued this path without turning aside.

Meghan’s acting career began officially in 1999. Her first professional acting job and debut appearance was in the Fox Family Channel television movie “Darklings,” where she starred alongside Ryan DeBoer and Suzanne Somers. In the same year, Meghan made a guest appearance in the American television series “The Crow: The Stairway To Heaven” and featured as Caitlin Curren in the comedy movie “Hayley Wagner, Star.”

In 2000, Meghan was cast in her first regular television role on “Higher Ground,” a Fox Family series. She also featured in an episode of the American television series “2gether: The Series.” After this, Meghan continued to make appearances as a guest actress in several television series including, “The Outer Limits” (2001), “Dark Angels” (2002), “Glory Days” (2002), and “Maybe It’s Me” (2001-2002). She also appeared in all 26 episodes of “Vampire High,” a television drama series that ran from 2001 to 2002. She featured as Tracey in the television series “Just Cause,” and in 2003, she made appearances in two television movies, “Lucky 7” and “Thanksgiving Family Reunion.”

In 2004, Meghan appeared in one episode of the popular American television series, “Smallville.” She also made her debut feature film appearance in “Decoys,” a Canadian sci-fi horror movie. Later in 2004, she was featured in one episode of the television series “Life As We Know It” and in two episodes of “The Collector.”

In 2006, Meghan starred in “South Beach,” “John Tucker Must Die,” “Her Sister’s Keeper,” and “Merlin’s Apprentice.” In 2007, she made appearances in movies and television series, including “Nightmare,” “Painkiller Jane,” “The Haunting of Sorority Row,” and “Viva Laughlin.” She also featured in the American sci-fi TV series “Flash Gordon: A Modern Space Opera” and in the Canadian comedy-drama movie “Blonde and Blonder.” In 2009, she appeared in one episode of the American drama series “Knight Rider,” and later in the year, she starred in “Dark House” and “Sanctuary,” a Canadian sci-fi TV series.

From 2010, Meghan began to feature more in television series. She starred in Peter Meech’s 2010 short, “Winner: Best Short Film,” and later featured in one episode of the comedy-drama TV series “Psych.” She also appeared in 13 episodes of the American TV series “True Justice” before leaving the show in 2011. In the early fall of 2011, Meghan landed a major career role as Red Riding Hood in the ABC adventure series “Once Upon A Time.” Her role in the series was widely loved, and as a result, she gained more popularity with fans and the media. She left the show towards the end of season two of the series to give more time and attention to her new show, “Intelligence.” In 2013, she was featured in a major role as Riley Neal in “Intelligence.” However, the series stopped airing after just one season, as a result of low ratings. Meghan later returned to “Once Upon A Time,” and made guest appearances in four episodes of season three and three episodes of season five of the series.

Meghan also featured in the 2014 TV movie, “The Memory Book” and in 2015 she starred as Crystal in “Dead Rising Tower” and as Ashley Jane Harrison in “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through The Snow.” She also featured as Assistant US Attorney Hannah Lee in the popular television series “NCIS: New Orleans.”

In 2016, she secured an acting role in Matt Drake’s “Chesapeake Shores,” an American television series, and she has since featured in 55 episodes of the series. Meghan also stars in the Canadian television series, “Hudson and Rex”.
