As a teenager, Anna-Maria was a rebel; as she said, she used to leave home and not return for the night, plus she would turn off her phone. She also had problems in school, including a lot of absences -Anna-Maria said that the whole family was worried about her, but over time her behavior changed, and she started to learn better.
Her father is a lawyer, so she wanted to follow in his footsteps, however, as a member of the high school drama club, she fell in love with acting. Paradoxically, her father had wanted to be an actor , but became a lawyer, so he was very supportive when Anna-Maria told him that she’d decided to study acting.
Upon matriculating from high school in 2010, she enrolled at the State Higher Theater School, and then she continued studying acting at the AST (Polish: Akademia Sztuk Teatralnych) National Academy of Theatre Arts, from which she graduated in 2018.
Anna-Maria made her acting debut in 2019 portraying Aniela Grabek in an episode of the series “Na Dobre I Na Zle”, a popular Polish drama series that follows the story of the lives of nurses and doctors in a local hospital; it won 10 awards, including three Telekamery Awards for The Best TV Show, which is most prestigious television award in Poland.
In the following year, she was cast to play Laura Biel in the multi-lingual Netflix movie “365 Days”, also starring Michele Morrone and Bronislaw Wroclawski. In order to save her relationship, she embarks on a trip with her boyfriend and a few other friends to Sicily. Massimo Torricelli, a handsome young mafia boss, kidnaps Laura and gives her 365 days to fall in love with him. The movie is based on the novel “Kolejne 365 Dni” by Blanka Lipinska.
It had five award nominations for The Golden Raspberry Awards (also known as the Razzie Award) a parody award show which honors the worst of cinematic under-achievements, winning the Razzie Award for Worst Screenplay, however, audiences all around the world liked this drama, and it was one of the most-watched on Netflix in 2020.
In 2022, Anna-Maria reprised her role in the sequel “The Next 365 Days”, also opposite Michele Morrone, and this time, the two try to overcome trust issues and their relationship hangs in the balance. This sequel was also poorly rated, and this time the audience called it terrible.
In April 2022, the second sequel to the movie, entitled “365 Days: This Day” was released. Laura and Massimo are now in love and stronger than ever, however, this time a mysterious man vying for Laura’s heart complicates their lives.
