Jay Cutler spent his early years on a family farm nearby Sterling in Massachusetts, where he was raised by his father, whose name is unknown, and his mother, Ann Cutler; his parents are now divorced. He has six siblings, three brothers, and three sisters named Kelly Coughlin, Joyce Cutler and Ann Fleming; it’s only known that one of his brothers is named Keith Cutler. Jay Cutler quickly made a name for himself in the bodybuilding community, so he frequently made appearances in various bodybuilding videos.
One of those is the pre-contest documentary video “Battle For The Olympia 2001”, which was directed by Mitsuru Okabe, and follows the preparation of competitors for the 2001 Mr. Olympia Competition. During the competition, he tested positive for banned diuretics, but somehow still placed second. He then competed at the IFBB Arnold Sports Festival – also known as Arnold Schwarzenegger Sports Festival – and won three competitive titles in 2002, ‘03 and ‘04.
