Who is Faizon Love?

When the movie “Friday” was released in 1995, one of the main antagonists was the character of Big Worm, the drug dealer and gangster, who uses his job as an ice cream man as a cover for his illegal activities. If you ever wanted to know more about the actor who portrayed this character, let us tell you all about Langston Faizon Santisama, better known by his professional name Faizon Andre Love.

He’s an actor and comedian with 85 credits to his name, and besides the mentioned role, which brought him the All def Movie award for Best Bad Mu#&a, in 2016, he’s been seen starring in numerous popular movies, including “The Replacements”, “Elf”, and “Torque”, and for television series viewers, he’s well-known for his role in sitcoms such as “The Parent Hood”, “The Big House”, and “Black-ish”.

Early life, family, and education

Faizon Love was born under the zodiac of Gemini on 14 June 1968, in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba, but he holds both Cuban and American citizenship, while he comes from a family of African and Spanish descent. He was raised by his parents, about whom little is known except that his father was in the  US Navy, so as Faizon said in one of his interviews, he was raised as a military brat across the US; he spent most of his childhood in San Diego, California, and Newark, New Jersey.

Faizon had an interest in acting and comedy from an early age, and when he was 15 years old, he began his career as a stand-up comedian, which lead to his off-Broadway debut when he was 19.

Speaking of Faizon’s educational background, he attended Morse High School, and upon matriculating in 1986, he didn’t enroll in college but pursued his acting career.

Roles in movies

Faizon made his acting debut portraying Jam Boy in the 1993 movie “Fear of a Black Hat”, followed by his role in “The Meteor Man” in the same year, while his breakthrough role came in 1995 when he was cast to play Big Worm in “Friday” also starring Ice Cube, Nia Long, and Chris Tucker; the movie won the All Def Movie Award for Most Quoted Movie, in 2016.

In the late ‘90s, Faizon was seen starring in “Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood” (1996), “Money Talks” (1997), and “The Players Club” (1998), while in early 2000s, he acted in “3 Strikes”, “The Replacements”, and “Mr. Bones”.

In the following years, he was cast to play Gimbel’s Manager in the 2003 family adventure comedy “Elf”, also starring Will Ferrell, Bob Newhart, and James Caan, followed by his role as Sonny in “Torque” in 2004. Since the list of Faizon’s roles is too long to enumerate, we will mention some of his most notable, such as his roles in the movies “The Luau” (2005), “Who’s Your Caddy?” (2007), and “The Perfect Holiday” (2008).

In 2010, Faizon had an uncredited role in the big hit movie “Life as We Know It”, while in the following years, he starred in “King of the Underground”, “The Paperboy”, and “Matthew 18”, among others.

In 2015, Faizon was seen starring as Theo in “November Rule”, followed by his role as Uncle Ron in “Brotherly Love” in that same year, while in 2016, he portrayed Doctor Funkman in “She’s Got a Plan”.

Some of his most notable and most recent roles were in the movies “Grow House” (2017), “Bulletproof 2” (2020), and “Block Party” (2022), while he’s completed filming of three new movies, entitled “Off the Grid Comedy: Belize”, “Trading Soles” and “Back on the Strip”, which are currently in post-production.

His fans will be happy to hear that he’ll be seen starring in the movies “The Fastest Man Alive”, “Social Redemption”, and “Friendship Day”.

Roles in series

Faiozon made his first television appearance in the short TV series “What a Cartoon!” as Sledgehammer O’ Possum in 1995, before he was cast to play Wendell Wilcox in the comedy sitcom “The Parent Hood”, which was broadcast until 1998, and concurrently with this role he guest-starred in the episode “Mama, I Wanna Act” of the series “The Wayanas Bros” as Nigel Lovejoy in 1996.

In the following years, Faizon focused more on movie roles, and his next television role came in 2004 when he was cast to play Warren Cleveland in the series “The Big House”, also starring Kevin Hart, Keith David, and Yvette Nicole Brown.

From 2005 until 2015, Faizon guest-starred in numerous series, including “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “My Name Is Earl”, among others, while in 2018 he was cast to play one of his most notable roles, as Al Baker in “Step Up: High Water”, which was broadcast until 2019; this was his most recent television role.

Love life and relationships

There have been various rumors both concerning Faizon’s love life and his sexual orientation, however, he hasn’t spoken about his previous relationships, since he prefers to keep his personal matters away from the media’s attention.

Faizon has been romantically linked to various women from the entertainment industry, and some rumors were saying that he was seen in the company of one popular actress whose name hasn’t been revealed, however, Faizon hasn’t commented on these assumptions.

In 2012, in one of his tweets, Faizon mentioned singer Melanie Brown as ‘the love of his life’, with whom he almost married, however, it seems that this was just a joke.

In 2017, he posted on his Instagram a photo featuring himself and a mysterious woman with the description saying: ‘My sunshine’.

In 2020, it was revealed that Faizon became a father of a daughter named Archy, however, he hasn’t shared who the baby’s mother is, but in an interview, he said that the baby’s mother is just a “wombat”. Apparently, Faizon is battling over custody of his daughter with Archy’s mother.

As of June 2022, Faizon seems to be single, he hasn’t been married or engaged, and has one child.
