Who is Emilie Ullerup?

Emilie was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 27 October 1984 – her zodiac sign is Scorpio, and she holds Danish nationality. She’s an actress with more than 50 credits to her name, while she’s perhaps still known best for her portrayal of the lead character Kaitlin Joyce in the 2008 comedy movie “JPod”, created by Douglas Coupland and Michael MacLennan, and which also starred David Kopp and Steph Song. It follows the lives of people working at a video game design studio, and the movie won four of the 16 awards for which it was nominated.

Early life and education

Emilie was raised in Copenhagen alongside her sisters Caroline and Simone, by their father Ove Ullerup, a Danish lawyer, ambassador and chamberlain, and their mother Bodil Mørkøv Ullerup about whom not a lot is known, because Emilie respects her privacy.

From a very early age, Emilie was urged by her parents to focus on her education, but was also interested in numerous activities while attending a local high school, including playing soccer for the school team, acting with its drama club, and dancing.

Upon matriculating in 2002, Emilie moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and enrolled at Vancouver Film School, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2005.

Emilie made her debut TV series appearance in the 2006 episode “Exodus: Part 2” of the critically acclaimed action adventure drama “Battlestar Galactica”, and gained recognition in 2007, when cast to play the main character Ashley Magnus in the science fiction mystery mini-series “Sanctuary”, created by Damian Kindler, and which also starred Amanda Tapping and Robin Dunne. It follows Dr. Helen Magnus and members of her organization The Sanctuary, as they’re discovering and studying unknown species.

A couple of Emilie’s following roles were in the 2009 episode “Crossfire” of the action adventure drama “Smallville”, and in 2010 the action adventure mini-series “Riese” and the drama “Concrete Canyons”.

In 2011 and 2012, Emilie played both Anna Zemenko and Angelina in the action crime drama “True Justice”, created by Steven Seagal, who also starred in it alongside Sarah Lind and William ‘Big Sleeps’ Stewart. It follows the life of a former Special Forces operative Elijah Kane, and the series won three of the seven awards for which it was nominated.

Emilie’s also known for her portrayal of Astrid Poulsen in the drama “Arctic Air”, created by Ian Weir and Michele McMahon, and which starred Adam Beach, Pascale Hutton and Kevin McNulty.

It follows the lives of bush pilots flying in Canada’s north, the series aired from 2012 to 2014, and won two of the 25 awards for which it was nominated.

Three of Emilie’s most recent roles in TV series have been in the 2014 episode “Two Half Men” of the comedy “Package Deal”, 45 episodes of the family drama “Chesapeake Shores” between 2016 and 2021, and the 2022 episode “Homo Cantus” of the fantasy science fiction drama “Motherland: Fort Salem”.

Roles in movies

Emilie made her debut film appearance in the 2007 mystery crime drama “Secrets of an Undercover Wife”, while a couple of her following roles were in the action thriller “Hunt to Kill” and the science fiction thriller “Paradox” both in 2010, and the 2011 romantic comedy drama “Complexity”.

She gained recognition when cast to play Ex-Girlfriend in the 2012 romantic action comedy “This Means War”, directed by McG, and which starred Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine and Tom Hardy. The movie follows two CIA operatives who have just learned that they’re dating the same woman, and it won one of the seven awards for which it was nominated.

A couple of Emilie’s following notable performances were in the 2012 drama “The Music Teacher”, the 2013 thriller “Fatal Performance”, and the 2015 horror “The Blackburn Asylum”.

The year 2017 saw her play Dave Travers in the drama “Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Home Again”, directed by Kevin Fair, and which starred Eric Mabius, Kristin Booth and Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe.

She exchanged vows with Canadian actor Kyle Cassie on 14 August 2018, in a large ceremony attended by many of their friends and family members; Kyle has appeared in more than 50 movies and TV series, and is probably known best for his portrayal of Gavin Merchant in the 2016 action adventure comedy film “Deadpool”.

Emilie and Kyle don’t have children together, and this is widely believed to be because they both want to focus on their acting careers.

Emilie hasn’t mentioned any other men (or women) whom she has perhaps been with, and as of June 2022, she’s married to Kyle Cassie, and doesn’t have children.
