Who is Mia Wasikowska?
Australian actress and moviemaker Mia Wasikowska, was born in Canberra, Australia, on 25 October 1989, making her zodiac sign Scorpio. She’s had roles in over 40 movies and TV series, and is perhaps still best known for her playing of the main character Alice Kingsleigh in the critically acclaimed 2010 family adventure fantasy movie “Alice in Wonderland”, which Tim Burton directed, and which also starred Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Depp. It follows 19 years old Alice who’s returned to the magical world of her childhood, and the movie won 37 of its 100 award nominations, including two Oscar wins for Best Achievement in Costume Design and Best Achievement in Art Direction.

Mia was raised in Canberra alongside her younger brother Kai and older sister Jess, by their Australian father John Reid who’s a collagist and photographer, and their Polish mother Marzena Wasikowska who was a photographer.
Mia studied at Cook Primary School and Ainslie Primary School prior to moving to Szczecin, Poland when she was eight, after her mother had been offered a job there; they returned to Australia a year later. She was nine when she began taking ballet lessons at the Canberra Dance Development Centre, and she dreamed of becoming famous worldwide; Mia eventually became dissatisfied with ballet because of the pressure to achieve physical perfection, and was 14 when she chose to leave dancing behind her.
She was also 14 when she made her debut TV series appearance, playing Lily Watson in the 2004 episode “Out on a Limb” of the drama “All Saints”, and the year 2006 saw her make her debut film appearance, playing Lilya in the thriller comedy “Suburban Mayhem”; Mia’s since been active in the film industry.

The year 2006 saw Mia star as Eve in the eponymous short drama, while she was then cast to play Girl in the 2007 short drama “Lens Love Story”, Cosette in the eponymous 2007 short drama and Amelia in the 2007 drama “September”.
It was also in 2007 that Mia gained recognition, with her playing of Sherry in the popular action horror “Rogue”, written and directed by Greg McLean, and which starred Michael Vartan, Radha Mitchell and Sam Worthington. In 2017, she portrayed Anna Novak in the biographical action thriller “The Man with the Iron Heart”, directed by Cedric Jimenez, and which starred Jason Clarke, Rosamund Pike and Jack O’Connell. Set during World War II, the movie follows two Czechs who are planning to kill Reinhard Heydrich, one of the main people behind the Holocaust, and the movie was nominated for three awards.
Mia’s three most recent film roles have been in the 2020 crime thriller “The Devil All the Time”, the 2021 romantic drama “Bergman Island”, and the 2022 family drama “Blueback”.

Mia’s had roles in only three TV series, including “All Saints”. In 2008, she played Sophie in nine episodes of the critically acclaimed drama “In Treatment”, created by Rodrigo Garcia and Hagai Levi, and which starred Gabriel Byrne, Uzo Aduba and Dianne Wiest. It follows a psychotherapist who’s begun questioning his abilities, and has thus started seeing his old therapist again; the series aired from 2008 through 2021, and won 10 of its 63 award nominations.

Jesse’s had roles in over 50 movies and TV series, and is probably still best known for his playing of the lead character Mark Zuckerberg in the 2010 biographical movie “The Social Network”; for his performance, Jesse was nominated for an Oscar for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role.
In 2017 and 2018, Mia dated British actor and model Robert Pattinson, perhaps best known for his playing of the lead character Edward Cullen in the film trilogy “Twilight”.
