Career

Most of El Fantasma’s songs target people struggling to take care of their families with low incomes, and those who are resilient and determined to attain their financial goals. He began his career officially in 2016, after he joined the Mexican Voz de Mando band to release corridos music. He made his career breakthrough as a soloist later that year, after he signed a contract with Afinartemusic, and released his first track, “Mi 45,” which later became part of his debut album, “Equipo Armado” (meaning ‘Team Armed’). The album has 15 songs, some of which became big hits on Fiel Compañero, El Bicho, and El Mayor radio stations. According to El Fantasma, the songs that make up his debut album are based on real events and are inspired by some of the things he used to witness in his personal life.

In 2017, he released the song “Vengo a Aclarar”, together with Banda Los Populares Del Llano.  The song made it to the top 10 Hot Latin Albums, which increased Alexander’s fame significantly. He released the promotional single entitled “Pain and Love” in 2018 through YouTube, and it attracted more than 2.1 million views in one day. He then released the song “El Nano” which was also a success, and in December 2018 the album “Pa Los Recuerdos” – it comprised hits by famed Mexican artists including Antonio Aguilar, Luis Perez Meza, and Chalino Sanchez, and was a tribute to some of the best Mexican music.

El Fantasma next released the single “Encantadora,” which had Perla Limon Elenes’ “Enchanting” theme, and it turned out to be a hit – the song, which surprisingly wasn’t a corrido, had a family theme, and its lyrics had been written by his wife and dedicated it to their daughter in 2019. He premiered his album “EL CIRCO,” whose message is endurance and perseverance, on 31 May 2019. A month later, he released the album “10 Kilates con Norteno”, which was recorded in Culiacan, Sinaloa – the album comprises of 10 songs including “El Perseverance,” “La Pecosita,” “Que Mi Negra,” “El Desquite,” among others.

Also in 2019, he released the song “Valor y Sostengo”, and used his social media to urge his fans to listen to it.

He announced that ‘It is now available through all digital platforms! I hope you like my people, a song with norteño for all the people who insisted that I take it out like that. A hug to all my people, I encourage.’

The singer experienced several challenges in 2019 and was forced to cancel his performance at The Charrotaurinas Festivals of Cuauhtémoc, held in Colima, suffering severe gastric ulcers which needed emergency medical attention. He later apologized to his fans, saying that ‘A thousand apologies Colima. We were already here, just that I could no longer bear the pain…I hope to be with you on another date if God wants.’

Alexander has bagged many accolades and awards as a result of his skillful performances. He has also been nominated for a few Radio Awards, Latin Grammy Awards, and has made it to the top position of LATINO monitor list and Billboard for being one of the most famous artists both in Mexico and the US. He recently received an iHeartRadio Music Award nomination for the ‘Best Regional Mexican Artist.’ He was also crowned the Most Outstanding Artist in corrido and regional genres during the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Carolina Carnival (2017), which was attended by many famous artists, such as Aleida Nunez and Alex Ruiz.

In 2019, the celebrated Mexican lyricist was nominated for the Premios Juventud Award in the category of the ‘New Mexican Regional Generation’.

Personal Life

Garcia is a married man, having exchanged vows with his girlfriend, Perla Limon Elenes, after being in a relationship for several years. Their wedding ceremony was held in mid-October 2007 in front of their close friends and relatives, and have welcomed two children together, a daughter and a son (born in September 2012), but haven’t revealed their names to the public

The couple is seemingly living a happy life together without any rumors of separation, and are often seen attending celebrity events side by side  – they attended 2018 Latin Grammys, which was held in November.
