Who is David Mazouz?

When the popular action drama series “Gotham”, based on the old DC comics, was released in 2014, starring Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue and Jada Pinkett Smith, one of the main protagonists Bruce Wayne, Batman, was portrayed by David Mazouz. This role brought him four award nominations such as the Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor in a Television Series in 2018, and ‘19, the Teen Choice Award nomination for Choice TV Actor: Action and, the Young Entertainer Award nomination for Best Leading Young Actor – Television Series. David immediately caught the eye of the audience, and people wanted to know more about him, so if you are one of them, let us tell you all the fun facts about this talented, young actor.

David has over 20 acting credits to his name, and besides the aforementioned role, starred in several movies, perhaps known best for his roles in such as “The Darkness”, “The Games Maker”, and “Incarnate”, among others.

Early life and education

David Mazouz was born under the zodiac sign of Pisces on 19 February 2001, in Los Angeles, California USA, thus he holds American nationality, and he comes from a family of mixed Greek Jewish and Tunisian Jewish descent.

He was raised in his hometown by his father Michela Mazouz, a medical doctor born in Tunisia, and by his mother Rachel Cohen, a psychotherapist from Greece; David has one older sister, Rebecca.

Speaking of David’s educational background, he attended Shalhevet High School, a modern Orthodox Jewish school, and upon matriculating in 2019, he enrolled at Stanford University, and is currently a full-time student at this college.

Roles in movies

David made his acting debut as Andy Roberts in the 2010 movie “Amish Grace”, followed by his role as Timmy in “Coming and Going” in 2011, while his next movie role came two years later, when he played Steven in “Sanitarium”, and in the same year was seen as Hudson Rivers in “Dear Dumb Diary”.

In the 2014 family adventure “The Games Maker”, also starring Joseph Fiennes and Edward Asner, David portrayed Ivan Drago, which was one of his most notable movie roles, to date.

In 2016, he was seen in another significant role for David as Michael Taylor, in the horror thriller “The Darkness”, opposite Kevin Bacon and Radha Mitchell, and then in the same year, he was cast to play Cameron in “Incarnate”, followed by his role as Young Gio in “The Birthday Cake” in 2021, which was his most recent movie role.

David’s fans will be happy to hear that he’s finished the filming of his two new movies, entitled “The Island Between Tides” and “Generation Angst”, which are currently in post-production and set to be released soon.

Roles in series

David made his first television appearance as Randy in an episode of the television series “Mike and Molly” in 2010, and in the same year, he guest-starred as Marshall Rakoff in “Private Practice”, followed by his role as Bert California in the popular comedy sitcom “The Office” in 2011, also starring Steve Carell, John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer.

In the same year, he starred as Ryan Hall in “Criminal Minds”, and then in 2012, he guest-starred as Jake Bohm in “Daybreak”, before reprising his role as Jake Bohm, in the spin-off entitled “Touch” from 2012 until 2013.

Later in 2013, David was seen as Steve in an episode of the series “Major Crimes”, then in the following year, he guest-starred as Ryan Hatcher in “Drop Dead Diva”, before he was cast to play Bruce Wayne, his biggest role, to date, in “Gotham”, which was broadcast from 2014 until 2019. Concurrently, in 2017 he was heard as Peter’s Co-Worker in the animated comedy series “Family Guy”, also starring Alex Borstein, Seth Green and Seth MacFarlane.

Love life and relationships

There have been various rumors concerning both David’s love life and his sexual orientation, however, it’s widely known that he was in a relationship with Camren Bicondova, an American actress famous for her portrayal of Catwoman. The two first met on the set of the series “Gotham”, and soon after started dating, with their fans thrilled with the news.

People noticed that the chemistry between them was constantly active in their scenes as Catwoman and Batman. However, the two broke-up shortly after, but they remained good on-screen and off-set friends, although they haven’t revealed the reason for ending their love story.

As of July 2022, it seems that David is single, he hasn’t been married or engaged, and doesn’t have children.

Hobbies and other interests

David’s fans can keep track of his life and work through his social media accounts – his Instagram has been followed by over 650,000 people, while his Twitter account established in May 2014, has amassed nearly 150,000 followers. He’s mostly active on his Instagram, posting about his work, everyday life, and his new projects, and David also posts about his dog Lila.

In his spare time, he likes to go for a walk with his friends, or spend time in the forest camping; one of his favorite hobbies is hiking and then kayaking on the lake. David has several hobbies, and one of them is photography; he likes to take photos of his dog, places he has been to, and photos featuring his friends while they are all having a good time in nature.

He also likes to read books, and his favorite is “The Giver”, a novel by Lois Lowry; he also likes to watch movies, although he prefers going to the cinema. His number one movie is “Nightcrawler”, starring his favorite actor Jake Gyllenhaal.

David is into traveling, and has visited several US states, while he’s also traveled around the world; his favorite destination is Trondheim, Norway because David loves the cold weather, and camping in the woods.

Age, height, and net worth

David’s age is 21, he has brown hair and brown eyes; he weighs around 125lbs (56kgs) and is 5ft 5ins (1.64m) tall.

As of July 2022, his net worth has been estimated at $2 million; according to sources, he was the highest paid for his role as Batman in “Gotham”.
