A writer and actress with over 65 credits to her name, who rose to stardom through her role as Linda Ferguson in the series “Orange Is the New Black”, Beth Dover was born under the zodiac sign of Virgo on 29 August 1978, in Chicago, Illinois USA; she holds American nationality and her ethnicity is of mixed English, Irish and Ashkenazi-Jewish descent.
Early life and education
Although born in Chicago, Beth grew-up all around the US, since her parents were both in the military, and they even lived in South Korea for a time. Her parents, Ed and Diana, divorced in 1987, and her mother married Ken Brown, a Vietnam veteran, and with whom Beth lived, while her father re-married to a Marilyn, and Beth has a very good relationship with them, too.
From an early age, Beth had an interest in acting, dancing, and loved to tell stories and create characters; she would to memorize television commercials, and then perform them to her mother, begging her for permission to be in one of them.
Speaking about her educational background, she attended a local high school in Florida, and upon matriculating in 1995, enrolled at the College of the Arts at the University of Florida, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Art (Theatre), in 1999.
Beth then moved to New York City, where she studied the Meisner technique, developed by a famous American actor and acting coach Sanford Meisner, and then went on to settle in Los Angeles, California, where she pursued her acting career.

Beth made her acting debut as Tandy Marlette in the series “Welcome Freshmen” in 1993, and then she was seen in “Kenan & Kel” in 1997, before she made an appearance as Fan in “Guiding Light” in 2001.
Four years later, Beth portrayed Missy in an episode of the series “LAX”, before she was seen in “Wainy Days” and “Criminal Minds” in 2007, followed by her role as Nikki in the comedy “Hot Sluts”, also starring Angela Sarafyan and Alison Brie. In the following years, she made appearances in series such as “Big Time Rush”, “A Guy Walks Into a Bar”, and “Whitney”, among others.

Beth made her first appearance on the big screen in 2002, portraying Nancy in “G”, , followed by her roles in several short movies before she was cast to play Sheila Contiella in “The Ten” in 2007, and she then starred in “The Shadows”, a mystery thriller, written and directed by Guillermo R. According to sources, Beth met her future husband, Joe Lo Truglio, on the set of the series “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”, in which he was starring and she made a guest appearance, soon after which they started dating.

He’s a writer, producer and actor, with nearly 100 credits to his name, perhaps known best for his roles in series such as “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”, “Burning Love”, and “Reno 911”, while he’s been seen starring in movies such as “Role Models”, “Superbad”, and “Pitch Perfect 2”, among others.
The two exchanged their wedding vows on 19 April 2014, at the rustic Santa Margarita Ranch in San Luis Obispo, California, in the presence of 200 guests, who besides their family members included fellow actors, Paul Rudd, Andy Samberg, Jordan Peele and Thomas Lennon, among others.
Beth gave birth to their son, Eli James Lo Truglio, on 8 March 2016, so as of March 2022, Beth and Jo are still married, and they have one child.
