Who is Anna Axster?
A writer, producer and director, Anna Axster has been making music videos and films for more than 10 years; she came into the limelight after her directing debut of the drama “A Country Called Home“, starring Mary McCormack, Mackenzie Davis and Imogen Poots, which brought Anna a nomination for Los Angeles Film Festival US Fiction Award in 2015.
Besides her work, Anna is also known as the wife of the famous actor and musician Ryan Bingham, who won the Oscar for Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Song (“The Weary Kind“), for the 2009 movie “Crazy Heart”.
Early life, family, and education
Anna Axster prefers to keep her personal matters a secret, thus she hasn’t shared where and when she was born, but apparently in London England in the early 1970s, where she was raised, and that upon matriculating from high school, she enrolled at the London Film School, from which she graduated with a Master’s degree in directing.
Anna worked in film production in both the UK and Spain before she moved to Los Angeles, California USA, in 2007, where she continued her work as a writer and director.
Career
In 2006, Anna wrote and directed the short movie “Souvenir”, produced by London Film School, and starring Ben Farrow and Alan Charlesworth, which follows the story of a relationship between a widower and his son.
In the following year, Anna co-wrote the short crime movie “Sweet Sting“ with Charlie Wupperman, starring Tim Hamelen, Evalee Gertz, and Gugun Deep Singh.
In 2015, she directed her first full-length movie – “A Country Called Home“ – which follows the story of a young woman who travels to her hometown after the death of her estranged alcoholic father.
In her interview for Woman and Hollywood, on the question of what drew her to this story, Anna answered: ‘There seemed to be so many countries combined into this one large country, and how these cultural differences challenge stereotypes was interesting to me. This provided the context for the personal story of this young woman dealing with loss and family and the idea of home.’
She also spoke about the challenges she faced during the filming of this movie, saying that the biggest challenge was getting it financed.
In the following years, Anna focused on her work at Axster Bingham Records, which she co-founded with her husband.
Relationship with Ryan Bingham
Since Anna prefers to keep her private life a secret, she hasn’t spoken much about how and when she met her future husband, on the other hand, Ryan Bingham was happy to share his feelings about their wedding held in 2009, saying: ‘When I met my (future) wife we were both vagabonds, just roaming around the country. Then we got a place in LA, and it was the first time I ever had my name on a lease. I had an address! That was big to me. When we got the keys and went inside, I just cried. I felt secure, finally.’
In most of his interviews, Ryan spoke about how inspiring Anna is, saying that she does all his music videos, album art, and photography and that he completely trusts her, also saying that it is great to be able to collaborate with someone you love. The two have three children together, although they haven’t shared their names and birthdates.
So when Ryan filed for divorce in June 2021, people were surprised, most of them commenting that Anna and Ryan were one of those couples who haven’t been the subjects of any affairs and controversies concerning their marriage.
The reason for their divorce hasn’t been revealed, they haven’t shared the details about the custody of their children, and also haven’t spoken about divorce settlement, although Ryan has listed their $2.45 million worth of estate in California, in July 2021.
As of July 2022, it seems that Anna is single, she was married once, and she has three children.

Who is Ryan Bingham?
Ryan Bingham was born under the zodiac sign of Aries on 31 March 1981, in Hobbs, New Mexico USA, thus he holds American nationality, and his ethnicity is White. He was raised in Houston, Texas by his parents; his mother was the one who bought him his first guitar when he was 16 years old, and his father also encouraged him to learn to play it.
From playing in small bars and honky tonks across the West, he came to the Oscar award thanks to his musical talent. He’s released six studio albums, and the song “Wolves” from his sixth album “American Love Song“ was featured in the series “Yellowstone”, in which Ryan also has the recurring role as Walker.
