Who is Alex R. Hibbert?
Alex was born in New York City, USA on 4 July 2004 – his zodiac sign is Cancer, and he holds American nationality. He’s an actor with so far three credits to his name, while he’s probably known best for his debut film appearance portrayal of Little, one of the main characters in the critically acclaimed 2016 drama movie “Moonlight”. It was written and directed by Barry Jenkins, also starred Mahershala Ali, Naomie Harrie and Trevante Rhodes, and follows an African-American man while he’s growing up, and is learning more about his identity and sexuality; the movie won 231 awards, including three Oscars for Best Motion Picture of the Year, Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role (Mahershala Ali) and Best Adapted Screenplay, while it was nominated for 295 other awards.
Early life, parents and education
Alex was raised alongside his paternal half-sister Robin Hibbert in New York City, by their father whose name and profession are still undisclosed, and Alex’s mother Donna Wellington. In 2011 after Alex turned seven, the family moved to Miami, Florida.
He grew up watching movies and TV series nearly every night with his parents, which contributed to him wanting to become a professional actor. Alex joined his elementary school’s drama club, and began appearing in various plays performed there, while he was 12 when he started appearing in plays performed at a local theatre. He continued acting upon enrolling in Norland Middle School in 2018, but became interested in a couple of other activities as well, playing soccer, creative writing, and practicing dancing.

Career as an actor
In 2018, he portrayed Young Oakland Kid in the hit action science fiction adventure movie “Black Panther”, written and directed by Ryan Coogler, and which starred the late Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong’o. It follows T’Challa who’s the legal heir to the throne of the kingdom of Wakanda, but a challenger from Wakanda’s past will try to kill him and take over the throne; the movie won 118 awards, including three Oscars for Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures (Original Score), Best Achievement in Costume Design, and Best Achievement in Production Design, while it was nominated for 280 other awards.
Between 2018 and 2021, Alex played Kevin Williams in 39 episodes of the popular drama series “The Chi”, created by Lena Waithe, and which starred Jason Mitchell, Jacob Latimore and Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine. It follows several young people living in South Side of Chicago, Illinois, and the series won four of the 20 awards for which it was nominated.
Alex was featured in the 2016 short action drama movie “Great Performers: L. A. Noir”, which features nine virtual-reality movies, and the following year saw him featured in the TV special “The Oscars”, while he also made a guest appearance in an episode of the talk-show “E! Alex is highly secretive when it comes to sharing the details of his love life with his fans, and hasn’t spoken of any girls (or boys) whom he’s perhaps been with. This is why there are various rumors circulating the internet concerning his sexual orientation, and current relationship status.
Some of Alex’s fans believe that the actor is today in a relationship with a non-celebrity American girl, but that he prefers to keep her away from the media’s attention because of how his newfound fame could affect the relationship and vice versa; this hasn’t been confirmed, nor has Alex commented on this.
There are also those who believe that he’s gay, and this to be the reason behind him not speaking of the girls whom he has dated; this hasn’t been confirmed either.
