Who is Alex Isley?
American singer-songwriter and music producer Alexandra ‘Alex’ Isley was born in New Jersey USA, on 16 April 1987, meaning that her zodiac sign Aries. She’s probably best known for the music which she’s released, since launching her career in 2012, her debut extended play (EP) being “The Love/Art Memories”; Alex has also collaborated with many popular names in the music industry, such as Tank and the Bangas, Terrace Martin and Scarface.
Education and early life
Alex was raised in New Jersey as an only child, by her mother whose name hasn’t been disclosed, and her father Ernest Isley who’s an American singer, and is perhaps best known for being a member of the musical group The Isley Brothers, while he was once also a member of the musical group Isley Jasper Isley. The family moved to Los Angeles, California when Alex was a teenager.
She grew up being interested in music, mostly because she looked up to her father, and because there was music playing at her home almost all the time; Alex has revealed that her favorite musicians while she was growing up were Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton and Ella Fitzgerald. Her father supported her interest in singing, and helped her in every way he could.
Alex was 12 when she began attending vocal training classes, and was 14 when she enrolled at LA County High School for the Arts, from which she matriculated in 2005, then entered the University of California, Los Angeles, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in the jazz department in 2009.
She’s also revealed that she has the sensitive promoting perceptual phenomenon synesthesia, which has helped her make quality music.
Career as a singer
Alex’s debut EP received mostly positive reviews, which she described as R&B influenced by jazz and hip hop.
She then collaborated with American rapper and hip hop record producer Patrick Denard ‘9th Wonder’ Douthit on his song “Rain Clouds”, and with Jamaican-American musician Micah ‘Masego’ Davis and American singer-songwriter David Debrandon ‘Lucky Daye’ Brown on their song “Good & Plenty (Remix)”.
Alex next collaborated with American musician Chromonicci on his song “Interstellar”, and with Christian Kuria on his single “Toroka”.
In November 2019, Alex and American music producer Jack Dine released their collaborative EP “Wilton”, and the following year saw her perform in the video series of live concerts “Tiny Desk Concerts”; she also performed on Cautious Clay’s 2020 song “Reaching”.
Most recently, in 2022, Alex released her album “Marigold”, which featured Jack Dine, and received mostly positive reviews.

Alex launched her YouTube channel “AlexIsleyTV” on 31 December 2014, and it’s today subscribed to by close to 50,000 people, and numbers over 35 million views of all her videos combined, most of which are her music videos, and we’re going to mention three of the most popular, which’ve attracted many people to Alex’s channel.
Her #1 video “Good & Plenty Official Lyric Video” has been watched over 1.6 million times since 22 July 2020, and it’s her, Jack Dine and Masego’s collaborative song.
Video #2 is “About Him (Official Video)”, and has been watched over 550,000 times since 31 December 2014, and is her original single.
Alex’s third most popular video “Road To You (Official Visual)” has been viewed nearly 250,000 times since 28 August 2019, and is her original song.
Alex enjoys being active on Instagram, and there are over 150,000 people following her on the social media network today, while she’s posted more than 230 pictures and videos, most of which serve to promote her upcoming concerts and tours.

She launched her Twitter account in March 2009, and has since tweeted more than 20,000 times, while there are nearly 25,000 people following Alex today; similar to her Instagram account, she mostly uses Twitter to promote her music.
Alex has a Facebook page, and it’s currently followed by close to 40,000 people – her most recent update was on 10 June 2022.
She doesn’t have a TikTok account, but many videos featuring her have been uploaded onto the social media network by other users.
Love life and boyfriend
Alex is highly secretive when it comes to talking about her love life in public, and hasn’t spoken about a single man whom she’s dated, nor about her sexual orientation.
It’s still widely known that she gave birth to her daughter sometime in 2017, but the girl’s name and exact date of birth remain undisclosed; most people believe that her father is Alex’s former boyfriend. There are those who claim that Alex isn’t currently interested in love, but that she wanted to have a daughter and thus found a way to make it happen.
Some claim that she’s still today in a relationship with the girl’s father, and that she prefers to keep him away from media, but none of these rumors have been addressed by Alex.
She seems to be unattached as of November 2022, hasn’t married, and has a daughter born in 2017.

Alex has become quite passionate about travelling; her career’s taken her to over 30 US states, while she’s also vacationed in a number of European countries. Her favorite city to travel to seems to be Venice, Italy.

Alex isn’t a fan of alcohol – her favorite drink is tea.
