Who is Alessandra Rosaldo?
Alejandra Sanchez Barrero was born in Mexico City, on 11 September 1971 – her zodiac sign is Virgo, and she holds Mexican nationality. She’s an actress, model and singer, with exactly 20 acting credits to her name, probably known best for her portrayal of Renee in the 2013 comedy movie “Instructions Not Included”. It was directed by Eugenio Derbez, who also starred in it alongside Karla Souza and Jessica Lindsey, and the movie follows a man who’s been raising a girl whom he found on his doorstep for six years, while the girl’s mother now wants her daughter back; it won five of the seven awards for which it was nominated.
Early life and education
Alessandra was raised alongside her younger sisters Mariana and Valeria in Mexico City, by their father Jaime Sanchez Rosado who was a pop music producer, and their mother Gabriela Barrero who was a housewife.
Alessandra became interested in music at a quite an early age, mostly because her father often took her to his studio; she met various successful musicians, and was 12 when she started working for her father as a studio backup singer.
Alessandra studied at Colegio Aleman Alexander von Humboldt, and was mostly into languages during her time there; she became fluent in both English and German by the time she enrolled at American School Foundation high school, from which she matriculated in 1990.
She didn’t pursue a college degree, but continued working for her father until 1999, when she launched her acting career.
Roles in TV series
Alessandra made her debut TV series appearance in 1999, when cast to play Brenda Sakal in the musical “DKDA: Sueños de Juventud”, and gained recognition two years later, when she starred as La Flower in the family drama “Adventures in Time”; the series also starred Maribel Guardia and Ricardo Chavez, and follows Violeta Flores who’s found her grandfather’s time machine.
Alessandra appeared in 92 episodes of the 2002 romantic fantasy drama “Salome”, and played Paulina Almazan in 95 episodes of the 2004 romantic drama “Amarte es mi Pecado”.
In 2005, she played one of the main characters Fatima in the family drama “Suenos y Caramelos”; it also starred Ana Paulina Caceres and Rene Strickler, and follows the life of little girl Sofia, who uses her imagination to have fun. Alessandra appeared in an episode or two of a couple of series in the remainder of the decade, such as the comedy “Vecinos”, another comedy “La Familia P. Luche”, and the mystery crime comedy “Hermanos y Detectives”.
She’s since starred in only a single TV series, playing Julia Mistral in the 2011 romantic comedy drama “With You, Without You”; it also starred Eduardo Santamarina and Laura Carmine, and follows the lives of two couples.
Roles in movies
Alessandra made her debut film appearance in the 2006 musical family drama “Plaza Sesamo: Lola Adventures”, and the same year saw her appear in the drama “Yumbina: La Droga del Sexo”.
In 2012, she played a supporting character in the adventure family drama “Lado B”, written and directed by Rodrigo Arnaz, and which starred Begona Alonso, Yolanda Andrade and Alejandro Calva. It follows a member of a disbanded pop group who’s trying to reunite his friends, because he misses being famous.
Alessandra’s also known for her portrayal of Mrs Vazquez in the 2015 biographical historical drama “Spare Parts”, directed by Sean McNamara, and which starred George Lopez, Jamie Lee Curtis and Carlos PenaVega. It tells the story of four high school students who’ve founded a robotics club, and are now competing in a national robotics tournament; the movie won two of the four awards for which it was nominated.
Alessandra’s since appeared in two more movies: the 2019 drama “The Obituary of Tunde Johnson”, and the 2021 mystery horror drama “MELANCOLiA”.

Alessandra sang the song “Aventuras” in the 2006 movie “Plaza Sesamo: Lola Aventuras”.

Although Alessandra prefers to keep the details of her love life to herself, it’s still widely known that she’s today a married woman. She exchanged vows with famous Mexican actor and comedian Eugenio Derbez in 2012, in a large ceremony attended by many of their friends and family members; Eugenio’s appeared in more than 80 movies and TV series, and is probably known best for his lead roles in the 2017 comedy film “How to Be a Latin Lover”, the 2018 romantic comedy movie “Overboard”, and the 2019 action adventure comedy movie “Dora and the Lost City of Gold”.
In August 2014, Alessandra gave birth to their daughter Aitana Derbez.
She hasn’t spoken of any other men whom she’s perhaps been with, so as of July 2022, Alessandra’s married to Eugenio Derbez, and they have a daughter together.

Alessandra’s highly active on Instagram, and is today followed by more than five million people, while she’s uploaded over 2,000 pictures onto the network, most of which feature her spending time with her family.
She’s a huge dog lover, and she and Eugenio have two pet dogs which can be seen featured in many of their Instagram pictures.
Alessandra’s physically quite active, and works out at the gym three to four times every week, parttly because it’s important for her career to stay fit.
She’s been to various US states for both work and pleasure, while she’s also vacationed in several European countries, with her dream travel destination being Venice, Italy.
Alessandra has her own favorite actor and actress, Leonardo DiCaprio and Scarlett Johansson, while a couple of her favorite movies include “Lost in Translation”, “Catch Me If You Can” and “Shutter Island”.
