Tracey Elizabeth Bregman was born on 29 May 1963, in Munich, then West Germany. She’s the daughter of Buddy Bregman, an American musical arranger, record producer, and composer, and Suzanne Lloyd, a Canadian-born actress best known for her roles as Raquel Toledano/Isabella Linares in the TV series “Zoro” and as Maxine Powell in the film “The Return of Mr. Moto”.

Although born in Germany, the family lived in London until she was 10 years old. Then moved to the USA, settling in Southern California.

She was interested in acting from an early age, and became a student at the American National Academy of Theater Arts under Francis Lederer.

As she grew older, she moved to the Lee Strasberg Institute, and currently studies with Gene Bua and Ivana Chubbuck.

Career Beginnings

Tracey’s career began in the late ‘70s. She made her debut in the television movie “Three on a Date” in 1978, then in the same year, she was chosen for the part of Donna Temple Craig in the popular soap opera “Days of Our Lives”, portraying Donna Temple Craig, a troubled teenager living with her father, who tries to commit suicide, but her problems deepen when she becomes pregnant. After 166 episodes and two years, her troubled teenage character was sent to live with her grandma.

This was the first time Tracey showcased her acting skills on a larger scale, and before long, she secured the part of Lauren Fenmore in the soap opera “The Young and the Restless”. She made her debut appearance on 25 January 1983, and appeared regularly until 1995, when she moved to “The Bold and the Beautiful”. However, she returned to the show in 2000, and was on a recurring status until 2013,

Since making her first on-screen appearance, her character has gone through a lot, including several marriages, most notably with Michael Baldwin, portrayed by Christian LeBlanc, and a longstanding rivalry with a character named Sheila Carter, portrayed by Kimberlin Brown.

So far, Tracey has appeared in 1727 episodes and won several prestigious awards, including the Daytime Emmy Award in the category for Outstanding Ingenue/Woman in a Drama Series, and two Young Artist Awards, in the category for Best Juvenile Actress in a Daytime Series, and then of the Best Young Actress in a Daytime Soap.

The series has been renewed for the 2023 and 2024 seasons, and according to reports, Tracey will return to the show.

‘The Bold and the Beautiful

Created by William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell, the creators of “The Young and the Restless”, several characters transferred immediately to the new show. Tracey joined the show in 1992, making her debut on 29 September. Since then, she has appeared in more than 350 episodes of the critically acclaimed series. Although she hasn’t won any awards for her work on the sister show, Tracey was nominated for Soap Opera Digest Award in the category for Outstanding Female Scene Stealer.

Other Projects

Although the role of Lauren Fenmore celebrated her as an actress, Tracey has made several other notable appearances throughout her career.

In 1982, she was Elizabeth in the thriller crime-drama film “The Concrete Jungle”, co-starring Jill St. John and BarBara Luna.

Fast forward to the 2000s, Tracey portrayed Katherine in the television comedy-drama movie “Sex & Mrs X”, which starred Jacqueline Bisset, Linda Hamilton and Paolo Seganti, directed by Arthur Allan Seidelman. The film is about a woman left by her husband, but she regains a sense of self through a sexual reawakening.

Thirteen years later, Tracey played Rebecca in the award-winning thriller-drama film “Misogynist”, written and directed by Michael Matteo Rossi. The film follows a chauvinist guru and his students on their way to a mysterious discovery.

Next, she was Miram Larsen in the romantic comedy-drama Christmas-themed television movie “A Very Charming Christmas Town” (2020), starring Natalie Hall, Jon Prescott, and Kelley Jakle, written and directed by Jake Helgren, about a lifestyle blogger who gets to write a news story on a small tourist town for the Christmas season.

In 2021 she had the lead role in the comedy-drama film “Swag Town”, co-starring Natalie Lander and Kathleen Gati.
