Sydel Alicia Curry is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, and was born under the Libra zodiac sign on 20 October 1994, which makes her 27 years old as of 2022. Sydel is a workout fanatic who hits the gym regularly. She is keen on her diet and avoids fast food and sugar; instead, she takes vegetables, fruits, and chicken meat.

She is a dog lover who has two pets named Nobu and Quavo.

Career

Sydel began her volleyball career when she was in high school and played for Carolina Union Volleyball Club. She also played in college championships when she joined Elon University. Unfortunately, Curry was forced to end her career after she was involved in an accident in mid-2017, that left her with a broken knee.

Curry opened her YouTube Channel, A Curry Girl, on 15 July 2017 and has so far garnered over 100,000 subscribers. She posts videos related to fashion, beauty and lifestyle, having uploaded her first, “Q&A with Sydel Curry | SYDEL CURRY,” on 24 October 2017 but it didn’t attract a lot of attention. Some of her most popular videos are “Mom & Daughter Q&A | Dating, Mental Health, Skincare, AND MORE | Sydel Curry-Lee,” which was uploaded on 27 February 2019 and has so far gained over 500,000 views, and “Husband puts me through a basketball workout | Sydel Curry-Lee,” posted in July 2019 and has been viewed more than 1.1 million times.

Curry manages the brand A Curry Girl, which started with her lifestyle and mental health website – she created it together with Neiman Marcus. She is also involved with Domaine Curry Napa wine firm, together with her husband’s sister, Ayesha Curry. Sydel is seemingly happily married to Damion Lee, who plays for the NBA team Phoenix Suns. The two met in college during a basketball game in 2013, began dating in 2016, and walked the aisle in September 2018. Their wedding ceremony was held at the famous upscale hotel, Charlotte Marriott City Center, in presence of family and friends, and they documented the memorable occasion on their respective social media accounts – her nieces, Riley and Ryan were the flower girls while the groomsmen were her brothers. The couple broke the news about Sydel’s pregnancy on Twitter in mid-2021, despite their reported struggles with fertility. They welcomed a boy, Daxon Wardell-Xavier Lee, on 26 November 2021.

Damion was born on 21 October 1992, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Michelle Riddick and Dean Lee. He attended Calvert Hall College High, and played basketball for the school’s team. He transferred to the Oakdale-based St Thomas More High School, where he played in the 2010-2011 season, and led his school team to the National Prep School Championship. He was thereafter enrolled at Drexel University in 2011, joined the Drexel Dragons Basketball team, and averaged 4.4 rebounds and 12 points in the 2011-12 season, which saw him crowned the Rookie of the Year by the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). In the season that followed, he led his squad to the third position.

2016 saw Lee joining Miami Heat and playing in the NBA Summer League. He later signed with Boston Celtics before he was sold to NBA Development League’s Red Claws. In 2017, he was taken on by Santa Cruz Warriors, which played in NBA G League and he later signed contracts with two teams in 2018: Atlanta Hawks and Golden State Warriors. Damion made his international debut when he played for the US National Team in FIBA World Cup in 2019. In the year that followed, he signed with Golden State Warriors, and shortly afterwards scored a three-pointer which saw the team win against the Chicago Bulls.
