Steelo Brim is an acclaimed American actor, presenter, podcast host, and comedian, who is possibly best known for producing and co-hosting the MTV comedy series “Ridiculousness.”

Age, Early Life, and Education Background

Steelo was born Sterling Brim under the Gemini zodiac sign on 5 June 1988, in Chicago, Illinois, which makes him 34 years old as of 2022. He’s the son of the pastor Tracy Brim and the Chicago Fire Department worker Frank Brim, and was raised in his hometown alongside his unnamed sister and brothers. He grew up very interested in baseball – his dad had a baseball team in Chicago, and he is attributed to Steelo’s love for the sport.

Brim attended Whitney M. Young Magnet High School in Chicago, and was very physically active, including playing baseball for the school’s team. He matriculated to Morgan State University, Baltimore, but quit his studies in 2007 to pursue a career in music.

Career Beginnings

Sterling landed a job at a radio station in Los Angeles shortly after he relocated there. He worked in the division Artist and Repertoire (A&R) of Atlantic Records’, and was one of the employees in charge of finding and signing new talented entertainers – it’s reported that he adopted his professional name ‘Steelo’ during that time. He later started working at the production firm Fantasy Factory, where he began his long professional relationship with the acclaimed record producer, Chris Pfaff. He also met the businessman and professional skater, Rob Dyrdek, in Fantasy Factory, and they became very good friends. Dyrdek later approached Brim asking to do a show with him.

Rise to Prominence

2009 saw Steelo co-hosting “Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory”, and in 2011, he partnered again with Dyrdek and the TV personality Chanel West Coast to co-host the show “Ridiculousness,” which is centered on showcasing the funniest viral videos and inviting guest celebrities to react to the videos – some of the most popular guests to make appearances have been Riff Raff, Lil’ Jon, and Mac Miller. Miller revealed during a previous interview in 2011 that he considers Steelo an organically funny and talented person.

Brim landed the role of Ulysses in the short movie “Orange Drive” in 2013. In the year that followed, he joined the cast of the TV show “Wild Grinder” and was later selected for the role of Meaty in the comedy series “Teenage Mountain Lion,” which premiered in 2014 and starred Anne Lane, Ali Ghandour, and Chris Reinacher. He’s also credited with voicing Graham in the acclaimed video game “NBA 2K17”, and for his appearances in the short movies “About the People” and “Scream: Killer Party.” He has also appeared in the shows “Basic Math Day One,”

“Amazingness,” and “How to Bake in Hollywood.” 2020 saw him serving as a panelist in “The Great Debate”, and in the same year, he began hosting the weekly podcast, “Wine and Weed” alongside Chris Reinacher. The duo discusses emerging issues and headlines -making news, and also invite various famous guests to their podcasts.

Steelo is highly active on several social media platforms – he’s followed by over 1.6 million, 350,000, and 40,000 fans on Instagram (@steelobrim), Twitter (@SteeloBrim), and Facebook respectively.

Personal Life

Steelo began dating the English fashion designer, Conna Walker, in 2015 – Conna founded the House of CB fashion house when she was 17 years old. The duo seemed to be in love and liked posting photos of themselves together, with romantic captions on their respective social media platforms, and announced their engagement in 2016. Walker was born in England on 20 September 1992, and is very popular on social media, especially Instagram, with 200,000 fans. She is also the owner of the fashion brand Mistress Rocks and has designed attires for the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Chrissy Teigen, and Kim Kardashian. She is worth approximately $2 million as of 2022.

In 2019, Steelo and Walker deleted their pictures together from their social media platforms, which led to many believing that they had parted ways, but they haven’t spoken about their alleged break-up. Previously, Steelo was romantically linked with the actress and pornstar Mary Jean Vegas. He now lives in Encino, Los Angeles.

Brim suffered a major blow in 2017 when his three-year-old nephew drowned in his swimming pool in North Hollywood. According to the tabloid website TMZ, the child wandered alone when he fell into the swimming pool. He was rushed to the hospital immediately after he was found, but it was too late – he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Brim is good friends with the “Creed” star, Michael B. Jordan – he was his roommate when he relocated to Los Angeles.

Controversies

Steelo sparked a controversy when he was accused of attacking Mary Jean Vargas in Midtown Manhattan, after she allegedly refused to give in to his demands. According to Vargas, who filed sexual harassment charges against him, Steelo repeatedly grabbed her and even punched her face and breasts at around 4 a.m., while they were driving. She claimed during an interview with Daily News that the co-host of “Ridiculousness” eventually jumped out of the window of her moving car when she screamed for help, adding, ‘This isn’t a play. It’s something that happened, and I’m hurting. And he’s switching everything around and trying to play the victim. I was physically attacked. He’s making me seem like I’m wrong.’ The incident was reported to the New York City Police department, but no charges were pressed.

Brim is of Afro-American ethnicity and has a set of dark brown eyes and black hair. He stands 5ft 8ins (1.73m) tall and weighs around 145lbs (66kgs). He works out frequently, and is very muscular.

Steelo has established himself in the American entertainment industry, which has seen him become famous and wealthy. He’s accumulated a net worth of approximately $3 million from his music, TV, podcasting and creative production careers. He owns several properties including a luxury 6000-square feet apartment in Encino, Los Angeles; he bought the five-bedroomed house, which has top-of-the-line finishes, a large pool, sunken BBQ, and a spa for approximately $4.2 million. Previously, he bought a mansion in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, for around $3 million. In 2019, the popular comedian was a victim of a burglary in his former Los Angeles residence – items that were worth over $100,000 were stolen during the incident.
