Callie Rivers was born on 17 September 1989, and is an Atlanta, Georgia USA native; she comes from a family of African-American and Puerto Rican descent.
She was raised by her parents, Kristen and Doc, alongside her brothers Spencer, Jeremiah and Austin. Her father is a professional basketball coach, who since 2020 serves as the head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Callie’s brothers are also basketball players, while Callie played volleyball.
She began playing as a teenager for Winter Park High School, in Florida, and upon matriculating in 2007, she enrolled at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where she played collegiate volleyball. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications in 2010.
Sports career
While playing in her high school, Callie led her team to Florida Class 6A titles for three seasons, setting school records for blocks, attempts and kills – Callie was named High School Player of the Year in 2006.
In the same year, she played in the US Junior Olympic Girls’ Volleyball Championship, and there she was named Most Value Player (MVP) of the USA High-Performance Championships.
At college, Callie was a starting player in her first matches in the Southeastern (SEC) Conference, and at the end of her first season, she received SEC All-Freshman team honors. In her senior year, Callie was the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-America selection.
When she graduated, there were numerous speculations about where Callie would go as a professional volleyball player, and she joined a team from Puerto Rico, the Leonas de Ponce, which played in the Liga de Voleibol Superior Femenino. Subsequently, without any further explanation, Callie announced her retirement.

During his freshman year, he wore jersey number 30, the same as his father and his brother wore during their time on college basketball teams. After one season at Liberty, Seth transferred to Duke University, in Durham, North Carolina, where he also wore number 30. He graduated with a BA degree in 2013, but in that year’s NBA draft, he went undrafted.
In November, Seth was acquired as an affiliate player by the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA Development League, then in December, he signed for the Memphis Grizzlies, making his NBA debut in January 2014.
During his professional career, Seth has played for the Cleveland Cavaliers (2014), Erie BayHawks (2014-2015), Sacramento Kings (2015-2016), Dallas Mavericks (2016-2018), and Portland Trail Blazers (2018-2019).
In 2019, he returned to the Dallas Mavericks, and then in the following year, he was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. In February 2022, Seth was traded to the Brooklyn Nets, where he currently plays.
