Travis Landon Barker was born on 14 November 1975 under the zodiac sign of Scorpio, in Fontana, California USA. He was raised alongside his two elder sisters by their father Randy Barker, who was a mechanic, and mother Gloria Barker who worked as a babysitter. He developed his love for music after his mother gave him a drum kit when he was four years old, and he started taking drum lessons the following year. He later took lessons and learned to play the trumpet and piano as well. He attended Fontana High School, where he was a member of the jazz ensemble and marching band.
Rise to Prominence with Blink-182
Travis Barker launched his professional music career right after matriculation. He initially played in the punk rock bands Snot and Feeble before he co-found a ska-punk band called the Aquabats in 1994. With them, he released the 1997 album “The Fury Of The Aquabats!”, and they went on tour with the rock band Blink-182. Following the departure of Blink-182’s drummer, Travis filled in for him, before becoming the band’s permanent drummer in 1998.
