“Rosario Tijeras,” based on the novel written by Jorge Franco, was adapted into a new television series in 2016, featuring Barbara de Regil as the main character, Rosario. Set in the infamous Comuna 13, a controversial neighborhood in Medellín, Colombia, the plot unfolds around Rosario, a beautiful woman whose life is marked by violence and tragedy. She’s the daughter of Rubí, a prominent stylist in the community and the backbone of their household. Rosario also has two brothers: “Jhon F,” who is involved in the dark business of contract killing, and Erik, a young boy suffering from a terminal mental illness.
