Livingston Allen was born on 17 May 1991, in Spanish Town, Jamaica. He hasn’t talked about his parents, thus there’s no information about their names and vocations. What is known about his childhood is that the family moved to the USA when he was 10 years old.

He took a step forward in late 2012, when he launched the channel “LateNightCreepVids”, interviews with celebrities like Charlamagne Tha God and Ms Drama, among others.
His popularity soared when he informed on the 2015 Summer Jam Fest Jersey, and the incident at the event during which over 60 people were arrested.

Rise to Prominence
In 2015, he launched his second channel, ‘DJ Akademiks’, which now has more than 2.7 million views. The first video on this channel was “Meek Mill ‘Dreams Worth More Than Money’ Review”, which has now accumulated over 205,000 views. He continued with similar videos, reviewing various albums by rap and hip hop artists, while also sharing news.
He was slowly building a name for himself, uploading five videos every day, for which he received high praise. His popularity increased, and by 2018 he already had his first million subscribers.
Rumors and Controversy
His personal opinions have at times been called somewhat controversial, which created online feuds with various celebrities, including Meek Mill, whom Akademiks sued for defamation, then Crissy Teigen, as he criticized John Legend’s album “Bigger Live 2. He even feuded with Eminem, who later wrote a diss for Akademiks, ‘Somebody tell Budden before I snap, he better fasten it or have his body bag get zipped…Say this ‘shit’ is trash again and I’ll have you twisted’.
Back in 2018, DJ Akademiks was a victim of a severe controversial statement by a rival hip-hop blog, ‘hiphopoverload.com’, which claimed that DJ Akademiks is a police informant, and that he’s working against rapper Tekashi69 on the racketeering and illegal weapon possession case.
DJ Akademiks came forward about this in an exclusive interview for TMZ, stating that he never had any connection with the said case and was never questioned by the police, or about anything similar.
Continued Success
Despite many controversies and altercations with other celebrities, DJ Akademiks has successfully continued his career. He’s continued to upload videos, and to the present day, he’s amassed over 2.7 million subscribers on his main channel, while his videos have attracted over 1.3 billion views.

His interest in music never ceased, and as his popularity grew, he wanted to make his own music. He assumed the pseudonym Lil Ak in 2018, and his debut EP entitled “Clout Chasers” was released the same year, containing four songs, “Chug Jug”, “Durag”, “Celina”, and “Super LIT”. As Lil Ak, he has released several singles since the debut EP, including “LANES”, a duet with 6ix9ine, then “Blues Clues”, “Hype Beast”, and “Triggers”, among other songs.
