Who is Austin Theory?
If you are a fan of wrestling, you’ve very probably heard about Austin Theory, who is today signed to the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)’s Raw brand. He’s a bodybuilder and professional wrestler, who rose to prominence by winning the WWE US Championship.

Early life, family, and education
Austin Theory is his ring name – he was born Austin White, and raised in McDonough, near Atlanta, Georgia USA, so holds American nationality and his ethnicity is Caucasian. Austin celebrates his birthday on 2 August, and he was born in 1997.
There is nothing known about his family and childhood, but what we do know is that he developed an interest in wrestling atm an early age, and cites John Cena, an American professional wrestler, as his biggest influence. Austin won first place at the National Physique Committee (NPC) Georgia Bodybuilding Championship when he was just 17 years old.
In one of his interviews, he said that he began watching wrestling when he was eight, and was doing trampoline wrestling with his friends in his backyard. If you wondered how he came to the idea for his ring name, the truth is that his friend had a PlayStation Portable (PSP) and showed Austin the game called Tekken. One of the characters was named Bryan Fury, and although Austin was not a fan of video games, he liked this character. He didn’t want to copy the name of the character, so he thought about what would sound like ‘Fury’ and he came up with ‘Theory’.
People said that it’s too long to explain, so now he just says: ‘It’s a cool name!’
Speaking of his educational background, Austin is a high school matriculate. He didn’t go to college, but pursued his dream of becoming a professional wrestler.

Bodybuilding and wrestling career
Austin made his ring debut on 5 May 2016 at the World Wrestling Alliance 4 (WWA4) event, and won the Heavyweight Championship defeating A. R. Fox. In August of that same year, Austin made his first appearance at the World Wrestling Network (WWN)’s Full Impact Pro (FIP) show, called Heatstroke, teamed up with AC Mack.
In the following year, he debuted at the Progress Wrestling Evolve show, but was defeated by Keith Lee. Austin was then seen at Evolve 78 where he defeated Darby Allin, followed by his winning the Full Impact Pro World Heavyweight Championship defeating Fred Yehi at Evolve 97.
Austin defeated Keith Lee at Evolve 103, and won the World Wrestling Network Championship. At Evolve 117, he won the Evolve Championship.
In 2018, he loses to Rey Horus at The Crush Lucha Libre, a Mexican promotion, but he came back the next year and won The Crash Heavyweight Championship. Austin participated in a World Wrestling Entertainment tryout before he signed a contract with WWE in August 2019.
On 25 December, Austin made his ring debut on NXT (WWE television program), but he was defeated by Roderick Strong and failed to win the NXT North American Championship. In January 2020, he achieved his first victory, against Joaquin Wilde.
Austin made his Raw debut alongside Zelina Vega, and on the 30 March episode, he established himself as ‘heel’. in professional wrestling meaning that he portrays a ‘bad guy’, a villain. He teamed up with Garza, but the duo was unsuccessful in winning the challenges.
During 2020, Austin was part of the villainous faction ‘The Way’ alongside Gargano, his wife Candice LeRae, and Indi Hartwell. In December 2020, Austin won the NXT Year-End Award for Future Star of NXT.
In 2021, Austin was drafted to the Raw brand, and in April 2022, he won the US Championship which makes him the second-youngest champion under the WWE banner. He also won the Money in the Bank ladder match, professional wrestling pay-per-view, and live-streaming event held on 2 July 2022.

Austin’s fans can find him on social media under his ring name. His Instagram account has been followed by over 400,000 people, while he’s posted nearly 1,500 posts, mostly related to his wrestling career.
Austin also has a Twitter account, which has gained over 100,000 followers. He has his official TikTok account, however, there are also numerous others run by his fans. You can find him under the name ‘theorywwe1’, and he’s already amassed nearly 95,000 followers, while all of his videos combined have gained nearly 600,000 likes.
Love life and wife
Rumors about Austin being gay began as soon as he came into the spotlight. People were talking about the video circulating the internet featuring him doing a gay cam show, however, Austin hasn’t commented about this.
There is no record of his previous relationships, and he is quite secretive when it comes to his personal matters. Judging by his social media posts, he prefers to keep his private life under wraps.

However, according to reports, he’s in a long-term relationship with Jordyn Leonard, a personal trainer from Florida. The two have been together since 2018, and although there were rumors about their wedding, the truth is that they aren’t married.
Austin hasn’t been married before, and doesn’t have children.
While he was part of The Way, people thought that Candice LeRae was his real-life wife, and then when it was revealed that she is married to Johnny Gargano, they linked Austin with Indi Hartwell. In the storyline, Dexter Lumis married Indi, so assumptions about Austin’s wife stopped.
